We visit Thessaloniki at least once a year and used to always stay in another luxury hotel in the city center- until we discovered this one. In one word= Fantastic! We were upgraded to a junior suite which was stylish, minimal, greatly decorated and a small treat was expecting us when we entered. Excellent service and front desk. Rich breakfast. Nice luxury amenities. Value for money! Will certainly go back.

    "the perfect city hotel "

    Rate:  5 Stars

I stayed during june for 3 nights,a mini getaway weekend. The hotel is a boutique one,has objects of art and a luxury atmosphere.Of course the front desk is gentle and smiley and nothing bothers them.i read previews reviews and is hard to believe that there was a matter of unpolitness. Our room was stylish and fully equiped. We also had a coffee machine for free espresso.
the hotel is in the centre of the commercial part of the city, downtown, although we had no sleep problem.the room quiet and in right temperature. Generally i prefer downtown hotels and this one met all my expectations.
do not forget to have breakfast and enjoy the roof terrace. I chose an omelete the first day and the next one i picked the deli products.Fresh brioche, french cheese and a spanish jamon. worths it.

Room tip: choose a room on an upper floor.

    "Ideal Boutique Hotel"

    Rate:  5 Stars

This Hotel is situated in the best location in the city. It is two blocks from the main square and the waterfront.

The recent renovation has kept the elegant facade of the old building while totally renovating and modernizing the rooms and public spaces.

As in most big city hotels, the rooms are small but functional. If able, I would suggest an upsize to a junior suite, It is not necessary to pay extra for a street view but the extra space of the junior suite is nice.

Check in was a breeze and the people at the front desk were extremely helpful.
    The service is excellent.

There is an excellent selection of restaurants within easy walking idstance.

Room tip: In Greece, smoking is still more prevalent than in the U.S. If you are not a smoker, be sure to ask...

    "lovely beds... "

    Rate:  4 Stars

We fell in love with the bedding after living in Bulgaria for a couple of weeks before hand. Lovely service from all at the hotel. The location was great on a treelined street which casts shade on the lovely bar. Trying to find the hotel with all the one way streets is a bit difficult. I would suggest some more signage to encourage the visitors that they are driving in the correct direction would be great.
Putting your door card in the electrical on/off switch is a good idea for the environment, however when charging an ipad or iphone in you room, the electrical current is off when you are out sightseeing. Perhaps there was a way around this?
    Overall very very lovely...thank you!

Room tip: street side rooms were quiet....

We only stayed one night and a day, but enjoyed every minute. The staff are eager to please, with superb comfort, service and they really make you feel like a valuable guest. The hotel is located close to the city centre and in case you come with your own car they provide a place in a close-by garage. Everything extra clean and modern. They have a beautiful garden terrace on the roof, with an extended breakfast buffet with greek specialities. The food is great in the restaurant also, and everyone must try Harry`s homemade lemonade (wish I could have some now!), the best ever tasted. I absolutely recommend it to anyone. We will be back!

    "Brilliant excellently located hotel"

    Rate:  5 Stars

We have just returned from the Excelsior Hotel after staying 3 nights. The hotel is located in a very chic part of town, with lots of designer shops cafes and bars. It`s also very close to the water edge and the promenade. The outside of the hotel is extremely well presented, and the reception staff give a wonderful first and lasting impression. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and the room went beyond our expectations of cleanliness and decor. The bed was just awesome. Past experiences, I never sleep well in a hotel on the first night, but the bed was just heaven, the linens and pillows were gorgeous. We slept like babies! Even though we were at the front of the hotel, we found it very quiet. Loved the shower and the bathroom toiletries! The efficient air conditioning was very welcome as it was around 40 degrees over the weekend. We had some issues with the iron we asked to borrow, but the staff came incredibly quickly and give the impression that nothing is too much trouble, ever. We loved breakfast on the roof terrace. Food was excellent and plentiful. Amazing omelettes made to order, and again the staff were around to make the experience as wonderful as it should be. Was also highly impressed by the business centre complete with modern furnishings, pc and printer. A nice place to do some emails or work.
This hotel is in the best location as far as we were concerned, I very highly recommend it, along with the beautiful city of Thessaloniki. An amazing city of culture, food, art, and history.
We can`t wait to come back. Thank you to all the staff at the Excelsior for making our long weekend so special. We are very well travelled worldwide and it`s not often you find perfection in a hotel!

    "We will definitely go back"

    Rate:  5 Stars

A beautifully decorated hotel, comfortable rooms, great staff. Receptionists, housekeepers, waitresses, all do their best to meet your every need. We will go back when in Thessaloniki again. The hotel is nicely located in the center of town, near Aristotelous square and one block from the sea. Lots of restaurants and shops around the area. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice because the food was so good. We were a group of 9 friends and I must say we all left happy.
