"Laid back and relaxing"

Rate:  5 Stars

Myself, husband & 14 year old daughter stayed at the Irides during the first week of June. We had, a number of years previously, spent a day in Aegina and felt that it may be a suitable island to spend a week. Having done research we felt that the Irides sounded ideal - we were not disappointed.
On arriving at Aegina Harbour following a short journey from Pireaus we took a taxi to the hotel. It is set back off the main road, beyond Souvala, down a path. We were welcomed by Andreas and shown to our room. We had a loft apartment which was spotlessly clean and had a sea view. The apartment was split level meaning that our daughter had some privacy sleeping on the mezzanine level.
The bathroom was spotless and had an enclosed shower. Towels were good quality. The kitchen area provided us with cutlery & crockery but not the means to cook a 3 course meal - who wants to do that when you are on holiday anyway!?
The beds were comfortable giving us a good night sleep with sheets changed regularly.
Close by is a supermarket - the owner is very friendly, and a Taverna. The taverna didn`t have many `ingredients` however this may have been because we were visiting early in the season.
Most days was spent relaxing by the pool, which is my preference but if you prefer the beach well the hotel is situated ideally for this also.
Breakfast is basic but included home made jams & marmalades, served in a lovely, relaxed setting.
Three evenings we walked into Souvala on the coast path (you can also walk their via the road), this is a small harbour village with a few tavernas to chose from. We found a bar at the far side of the village which was great for a pre meal drink & people watching!
We visited Agistri Island one day travelling their by the Agistri Express from Aegina harbour. Its worth visiting this island if you have the time. When we came back we shopped & ate in Aegina town.
My over-riding memory of irides is of a relaxing, friendly, laid-back & chilled out location. We would definitely like to return.

"Wonderful and relaxing Hotel!"

Rate:  5 Stars

My son (4) , husband and myself stayed at this beautiful resort type hotel from the 31st of July to the 5th of August 2012. We have no complaints. The rooms were very clean, the beds very comfortable and the views were idyllic, the sunsets spectacular.
We enjoyed the saltwater pool! From this location we were able to travel by car to the entire island. Although the Souvala beaches are somewhat on the rocky side, we enjoyed the peaceful location. We also enjoyed the personalized service, our hosts were both very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Aegina and at Irides and would have no reservations to recommend this hotel for couples, families, for a long or shorter stay (although we highly recommend a longer stay....) We miss the Irides. Best regards from Montreal Canada!

"The 3 Americanos Love Irides"

Rate:  5 Stars

While on vacation on Aegina last August my wife and sister found Irides and are we glad we did! What a lovely spot on the sea. They have a salt water pool as well! The apartments are excellent and Dimitra and Andreas could not be more hospitable! This is only a short ferry ride from Pireaus so you must go. You will not regret it. We will be back!

"Fantastic Holiday"

Rate:  5 Stars

My family and I booked the Greek part of our European trip while we were in Europe. It was a hard to do as we did not know much about Greece or the Islands. When online I found a website of the Irides, Aegina and thought it looked nice, the reviews were good so we booked it.

Upon our arrival at Irides we were made to feel very welcome by Spyros and his parents (to those from the English speaking world their English is very good if you don`t have a handle on Greek).

The Hotel itself is right on the edge of the coast and if you don`t want to swim in their fantastic salt water pool you just have to jump the fence and you can dive into the crystal clear sea. The rooms are very well kept and clean, the bar area is fantastic and provides shelter from the hot afternoon sun, not to mention the drink prices are reasonable for a hotel bar.

My family and I had a fantastic stay at this hotel and I would recommend the Irides to anyone. Just to let you know, Aegina is one of the better Greek islands to visit from a value for money point of view, it tends to go unnoticed by the majority of international tourists (It mainly targets Greek and Athenian locals) therefore the prices on this Island tend to be very reasonable indeed.

An amazing Island and an amazing hotel, I encourage anyone thinking of visiting Europe to ignore the international media reports and visit Greece, its safe, friendly, warm and good value for money.

Room tip: Make sure you ask for B2 or B3 they have amazing seas views and night views of Athens.

"Relaxation at it`s best.."

Rate:  5 Stars

Having been to Aegina many times, but never staying overnight, I was not sure what type of accommodation I would find. Finding Irides was the best thing that could have happened! What a peaceful, quiet, pretty place! The hotel is located right on the sea, with a beautiful pool and deck for sunning yourself! The covered patio for breakfast and snacks is so serene, you might not want to leave! The owners are literally at your beck and call, and happy to do it! The hotel has grown from papous summer fishing retreat to a stunning resort! Bravo! Breakfast was delicious, and light snacks are available all day. We adopted the cutest kitten, and almost took it back to Athens! Room was clean and comfortable with a stunning view of the pool, beach and Athens in the distance! Fountain in the middle of the courtyard was so tranquil...cannot wait to go back!

"Hidden paradise- don`t tell anyone :) "

We stayed at Irides back in June 2011 , thanks to the fantastic reviews on trip advisor.

Normally we plan everything before we go but this time we decided to go with the flow, we got a bus from the airport , purchased our ferry ticket at the port , then had a drink in a local bar when we arrived on the island before hailing a cab to Irides, so easy ........

We had been warned that they were holding a wedding on the day we arrived ....how wonderful....after a very warm welcome we were shown to our room which was idilic with breathtaking views of the sea. After wandering down to a local bar for food we came back and relaxed on our balcony watching the amazing wedding below ( and fireworks ) .

The next day we were treated to homemade jams and marmalade for breakfast and fruit from their garden during the day. Words can not express how much we enjoyed our stay ... truly very relaxing ... from the wonderful pool, ice cold beer from the bar , swimming in the sea, walks along the beach , there was something for everyone ......

Nothing was too much trouble either , from the emails before we arrived, swapping room so we could have a sea view, and the assistance arranging our trip home ,Dimitra & Andrea were fantastic - unfortunately we had to travel home during the greek national strike so the ferry`s were not operating - thanks to Dimitra & Andrea we made it to the airport in time for our flight.

We had such an amazing time , we will defiantly return .... we can`t wait
