"home sweet home"

Rate:  5 Stars

For ages we have been travelling through Greece and ended up in Lesbos and ended up as well in Malemi hotel. Our children came with us to this hotel even before they where born. Marvelous Island and George and Effie´s hotel perfectly located to explore every corner of the Island. For the last eight years the first thing our children ask after our holidays is ´when are we going back to George and Effie?´. Great pool, great place for kids, great food all prepared in a traditional way and most of the products (olive oil, veggies, marmelades, fruits) produced in their own garden. This year our daughter got a flue with some fever and George immediately took us to Kalloni hospital where we got a first class service and one day later ready to jump in the pool again. We probably even end up here with our grand children.

"Our 12th year!"

Rate:  5 Stars

Our 12th successive year at Malemi - that record speaks for itself. Perfect location, superb hospitality and a great spot for totally relaxing holidays. George and Effie are perfect hosts - helpful but not intrusive. When my sister needed emergency dental treatment, Effie and George made the appointment, drove her there and even acted as interpreters - now that`s what I call great service. Can`t recommend this hotel enough!

"great holiday"

Rate:  5 Stars

We have just returned from a weeks birdwatching. We stayed here as they offer full board (buffet breakfast, packed lunch and buffet dinner) great if you are out all day, no worries about finding lunch while out looking for birds. In the evening, just walk down to the spacious lounge/dining area. The food is great, there is something for everyone. Evening meals offer about eight choices. Salad, fish (really enjoyed the stuffed octopus) veggi casseroles, moussaka. Lots of olive oil fab! George, his wife and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Nice to see them every evening keeping an eye on things and checking everything is fine. The room was light and large with double bed, ( not like most greek holiday places) plus a heater as it was still a little chilly to start with - nich touch and separate bathroom again good size with bath and shower. Nice clean pool area, although we did not have much time to use it.Can thouroughly recommend a stay here.

Great hotel, run by the whole family, brilliant as a base for exploring the beautiful island of Lesvos.

Room tip: The rooms are spread around the whole of the grounds! I had ground floor with a spare room! Sun hits...

Very nice hotel which makes you feel like home. The staff is really friendly and helpful all the time. We have enjoyed the typically greek food which was prepared by care. Everything was perfect.

"The best hotel I have ever been in Greece"

Rate:  5 Stars

These was 9th time, that I was in Greece. Before I was in Corfu, Kefalonia, 2 x Zakynthos, Rhodes, Kos, Chios and Samos, but I have never been in a such good hotel.

It is lovely family guided hotel. Personnel are very kind. If you need something (some information, special food,..) they provide you. Owner is present all the time and he is very kind and helpful. Every day you can change dinner for lunch, if you wont. The food is excellent. Every day fresh, they prepare vegetables from their own garden. They prepare traditional greek food and also "usually" European food. They prepare also very good pasta "al dente".

The hotel is very nice. It has four marvellous palma trees. It is very green, they watering oasis all the time. The room are sweet cold and also they have air condition, fridge and TV. It is also very clean.

The swimming pool is nice and it has warm water. It is nice to go swimm beafore you have breakfast. The beach is beautifull and it is near hotel. It is sandy. The sand is soft and the wather is shallow and warm. It is suitable for kids.

Really great experiance, also good proportion between price and service.

Room tip: G Ground floor is sweet cold and you have nice short access to swimming pool from your terrace.

"A home from home"

I am a keen birdwatcher and have just returned home to Norway from my fith stay at Hotel Malemi in Skala Kaloni on Lesvos. That in itself should be reccomendation enough but i feel i should confirm my admiration for the hotel and its staff. George, Effie, Georges wife and the rest of the staff are very service minded and have allways done their utmost to satisfy our needs as guests and as friends. Because of my job it doesnt suit me to travel with charters at weekends and usually arrive on a thursday, stay 12 nights and leave on a teusday. This unusual and difficult habit of mine (it means my room stands empty until the next week starts) is accepted with good grace by the hotel and we are allways met and welcomed as long lost friends. The Hotel and its surroundings are clean and tidy. The food is good and variable based on traditional greek recipies and meal times are made flexible to cater for the excentric behaviour of myself and other birdwatchers. This is a very good hotel. truly a "home from home" Peter Mallinson.

"Nightingale lullaby"

Rate:  5 Stars

Been meaning to write about this lovely hotel since returning from holiday some weeks ago. Its really comfortable and friendly. The swimming pool is marvellous at the end of a day birdwatching. The food was smashing with lots of local produce - there was loads of choice for vegetarians (me). There are great walks nearby - down to the sea, by the wetland and so on. The rooms are charming with very good facilities - and the nightingale sings you to sleep - what a privilege!

"Perfect place"

Rate:  5 Stars

Malemi is a perfect place to everyone planning a trip in Lesbos, specially for birders.
Good location in the island, pleasant rooms , very attrictive food and above all, the kindness of Georges and all the team of the hotel is a must .
And they known all about the needs of birdwatchers and how to help them to enjoy a lot their stay.
I hope to go back in Malemi hotel as sson as possible and continue to discover all the beauty of Lesbos !
