"Fab time at Sani- May 2012 "

    Rate:  4 Stars

Little late in posting this but we stayed at sani beach club 5th-15th may and had a wonderful time. Travelled with our 2 children ( 5 & 3 ) and decided on early may because of the early booking offers and that we didn`t want it too hot. We were lucky, clear skies and 26-30c .Holiday was off on the right foot with taxi transfer from airport which was one of the perks. We had a garden room, sea view which was a perfect spot. A few steps to the pool and just a few more to the beach , all on the flat so perfect for the girls. Garden room was newly finished, nice big bathroom , maybe would have preferred the room a little bigger but it was fine really. Used the children`s club for our 5 yr old and she loved it, wee one was not so keen. Grounds spotless, playground great, and food was very good. The dine around option for the marina resturants was well worth it, and gave a us something to dress up for and look forward to in the evening. So would we go back , yes. My only regret, not taking my parents. We weren`t sure it would be their cup of tea, so they went on a cruise while we were here, and then out of the blue my beloved dad died last month, he was only 69. So sad, will go back and light a candle for him.

Room tip: Garden room, sea view was a good choice

    "Good but not excellent "

    Rate:  4 Stars

We travelled with Thompson who were excellent - I had booked by phone and was advised to take a late checkout (for which you pay), as flight is 7pm. This was good advice and it was nice to be able to have a shower in the comfort of our room before leaving.

The resort is maintained in a spotless condition and the staff seems to be the size of an army. Our rooms were fine - we had two garden rooms - although I would have expected two soft chairs in each rather than the one there was. "Official" photos do show two chairs. We did not ask for another chair as we didn`t spend that much time in the rooms anyway.

We had taken half board and the food was plentiful. Pancakes and waffles at breakfast were a real hit with my daughters. Evening meals were fine, but not five star standard - we only stayed a week but if you are there longer I would suggest it could become a bit samey. As a family of dessert lovers, the desserts looked wonderful, but all tasted the same.

Must agree with other reviewers about the noise and in the dining room though. Have been on many family holidays when my children were younger (mine are now older teenagers) and found the diningroom experience at this hotel to be a bit institutional and noisy. Some parents just seem to let their kids scream and make a massive mess at the table. I`m all for the kids being part of the family meal from a young age, but that is assuming they can behave like humans! If you want a nice leisurely evening meal you will definitely not get it in the main restaurant here - the staff take your plate away almost as soon as your knife and fork hit the plate after your last mouthful. However, they were always pleasant.

One thing to be aware of - Brits are in the minority in this resort. According to our rep, they stay in the Beach Hotel rather than in the Beach Club but I`m pleased we weren`t there as there seemed a big difference in clientele. You only see the odd tattoo at the Beach Club whereas the hotel residents seemed a lot more decorated! There are a lot of Russians at the Beach Club (and the women are are as slim, toned, tanned and beautiful as racehorses) - about 60% according to our rep. We spent our first day on the beach and it did feel a bit as if we were in another country, but not Greece, as the main language spoken was Russian. However, we migrated to the pool and this is where the Brits congregate and although we weren`t there to talk to other guests, it seemed a bit more comfortable. On the point about nationality - this was not a Greek experience AT ALL. Many of the staff are young Eastern Europeans (many are students) doing the summer season and we found them to be extremely friendly, on the whole. No complaints about this, but from previous experience of Greek holidays, I would say the atmosphere here was not Greek. Even Mark Warner employs more Greek staff.

We went to the marina one one day - the supermarket is not huge, but water is considerably cheaper here than in the resort. Had a lovely fresh fruit drink in the creperie but found the marina to be rather a sterile place. Lovely wide promenade, all spotlessly clean but very few people around. There are a few shops but they are hugely expensive and those type of shops where you walk in and instantly feel inadequate!

We went to the Mamma Mia! production in the Garden Theatre one evening (had to take the shuttle bus - excellent service, lovely bus). This was free and a nice bit of variety in the holiday - some other reviewers have been a bit critical which is a bit unfair. It was a fun production and rather lovely to be able to sit in the open air and chill out.

Regarding activities, there was pool aerobics which was free and fun. There are water front activities and the spa, but we didn`t use either so can`t comment. Must make further comment about the pool area - towels are plentiful, new ones constantly being provided. There are also nice touches like the person who comes around with a tray of fresh, wet towels for hands and even a guy who comes around in white gloves offering to clean your sunglasses.

Overall, this was a good, chill out holiday.

My husband, daughter, son-in-law and 3 young grand-children recently holidayed at The Sani Beach Club and we can`t thank the staff enough for all their hard work and warm hospitality. Our Junilor Suite was perfectly located near the swimming pools and just a short walk to the beach which was safe for the children and lots of fun was had both in the pool and sea.
The Kids Club was also great and the children even walked to the Marina for a special ice-cream!
The main buffet restaurant was more suited to our needs with 3 young children but we did try 3 other restaurants and a special mention is due to The Tomato Restaurant in the Marina.
Everyone was very friendly and couldn`t do enough for us and a week soon went, we should have gone for 2 weeks! Thank you to all for making this a truly wonderful holiday and my 5 year old grand-son has already started saving his pennies to go back again. High recommend it!

we were in the Sani Club during the end of July begining og August and I have to say the resort itself is great. the gardens are superb, the beach is perfect for families with children and really there is nothing to fault when it comes to infrastructure. the service is good throughout the resort and the staff is very helpful.
but the room itself, which was located in the ground floor, was nothing special, definately not worth the price. it was very damp in it!
and the main issue was the average food all over the resort. the Olympos restaurant in particular where mos of the guests have breakfast and dinner. I have been to much cheaper resorts in Greece and the food has been the same as it was in Sani, which was a huge disappointment. and the thing is, even if you go to other places like the Ouzzeria, or in Marina the food is still very average for the price you pay.
still this is a georgous resort well worth paying a visit.

The Sani beach club was the most fantastic holiday what we ever had.
The club was spotlessly clean and the gardens are just gorgeous.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, the food was so really good that we never needed to have lunch, because we were so full after breakfast.
The rooms were cleaned every day.
The most impressive thing about this hotel is that the staff is so helpful and friendly, everybody smiles and says hello and they are great with the children, and generally the hotel is very well managed by a little manager.
It was our first time at Sani beach club and we will definitely will be returning next year again to club and i hope this has been helpful and we would highly recommend you to give a try you wont be disappointed!?

    "Sani Beach Hotel Holiday"

    Rate:  5 Stars

Having had a lovely holiday at Sani Beach Hotel in Chalkidiki last year, we decided to go back again this year and would love to visit again next year. It is an overall beautiful resort to holiday in, with lovely accommodation and picturesque surroundings. There are a multitude of things to enjoy, from watersports to live performances. The beach is great and we would just decide each morning whether we wanted to have a day by the pool with the kids or at the beach.

What we feel makes it stand out from the rest is the friendliness of the staff and how year after year it feels like they go out of their way to make our holiday a special one. It is the little touches that make a big difference. Add to that the delectable food and you have a winning combination. We would definitely recommend the half board preference and taking advantage of the ‘dine around’ meal option that allows you to enjoy dinner at other restaurants in the resort within your reservation. Admittedly though, the Olympos Restaurant at Sani Beach Club is our favourite, not only because of the food but because of the friendly staff and breathtaking views. It is lovely to see welcoming and familiar faces waiting there for us every year like Nikos, the restaurant manager and Marian who always serves our meals with a smile. My girls love them both and we look forward to seeing everyone again next summer.

    "Most relaxing holiday ever"

    Rate:  5 Stars

From the perspective of a well-travelled family that has stayed in some of the world’s most exclusive resorts, the Sani outdid itself on every level, especially in terms of hospitality and food. From the moment we were picked up at the airport to being dropped off a week later, we were made to feel totally relaxed and at ease by the lovely, smiling staff who went out of their way to meet our every need.

Our room was pleasant and had all the facilities you would expect at a 5* hotel, including free WiFi (always a bonus). Each has a lounge area and balcony with a view of the coast and are set in beautiful gardens.

The food at the buffet was heavenly - there was lots of choice for fussy teenagers, children with a sweet tooth and adults eager to try more sophisticated Greek food. There are other dining options at the hotel, including the Ouzerie, a Greek restaurant with a stunning view over the sea to Mount Olympus. Outside the hotel, but within walking distance and still inside the resort, is the Sani Marina with fantastic restaurants. Our favourite was the Asian fusion joint with incredible sushi.

The beach was very accessible, pleasant and clean. The sea was clear right down to 15 feet and had great snorkelling for strong swimmers and a calm bay for those more nervous.

As for things to do, we enjoyed a day at the well-equipped spa. The `thermal experience` and our massages were delightful. There are free birdwatching tours at the nearby Sani Wetlands and free cultural performances. We enjoyed a Greek dance show while we were there and were sad to have missed concerts by world-renowned singers earlier in the season during the Sani Festival.

All in all, I could not recommend the Sani Beach Club or Resort more highly. We are already planning a trip back for next year. Although we had teenagers in our party, Sani is perfect for couples and families with young children alike. The staff is excellent with children and there is a good daycare centre. There is so much more on offer than any beach holiday we had had before - it was a wonderful trip.

Room tip: Try to ask for a suite near the hotel reception.

    "Perfect place for family holidays"

    Rate:  5 Stars

This is really the place for family holidays where everything is being taken care of. Your kids can go the mini club and are entertained the whole day with various activities. Having said that children above 10 might find it not entertaining enough. For the yougsters it`s perfect.
The service overall is perfect and at a level you wouldn`t expect in Europe. Being used to travel to Asia where the service is just perfect in any 5* hotel, I was amazed to experience a very professional young team always very polite, helpful and professional.
The rooms are very nice and up to date, like all the infrastructure overall. The staff is really nice and helpful anywhere you go in the resort.
Of course this is not the hotel for the honeymooners and be aware that the proportion of Russian is huge. But they are nice and not loud and impolite like some French tourists ("pieds noirs") we experienced.
This hotel being part of a wider resort, you can dine around in the other hotels. Don`t waste your time going to the Sani Marina, because it`s a place without any charm which could be anywhere in the US (e.g. Florida) with bad service and very average food.

Room tip: If you have more than one kind take the family rooms, where you will have two interconnected rooms.
