Very hospitable and incredibly helpful and genuine owners. Big new and modern rooms with a nice view of the sea. Close to the hotel and easily accessible situated organized beach with 2 tavernas that serves everything and all delicious.

"A genuinely friendly hotel in the beautiful island of Poros."

    Rate:  5 Stars

We felt very welcome in this family run hotel. Zefi greeted us warmly and offered us ouzo at check in then showed us to our room. The room was nice and overlooked the pool. Breakfast is Greek/continental and although not a huge variety is very tasty with homeade marmalades and organic eggs.
The roof garden is fantastic and overlooks the bay. We had a few drinks here and also enjoyed the traditional barbecue with fellow guests on our last evening.
We were upgraded to a suite for our last 2 nights - this was amazing and the views were fantastic. We felt we had found a little piece of paradise and will definitely return.
Our thanks to Zefi, Takis and staff for making us so welcome.

some people say that this is the best place to stay in Poros. I agree - thank you Zefi, Takis and family for a memorable time.

    "The best welcome ever "

Have just returned from 8 days at the Saga Hotel and I`m recommending it to all my friends and family. If you want to experience the real Greece; warm hospitality and traditional greek food this is the place. Zefi and Takis and their family and staff made us feel so at home from the moment we arrived. Zefi greeted us so warmly when we arrived. The friendly atmosphere at this hotel rubs off on the guests and therefore, guests speak to other guests which is lovely and we met some lovely people during our stay.

The family work so hard to make your holiday stress free and involve you in all the goings on such as a special dinner on the roof one night for local ex pats, which we joined in with. Our first night we `gatecrashed` a wedding which was held on the roof top terrace.

We now understand why so many guests return. Zefi arranged our taxi from and to Athens airport and the ferry bookings and even drove us to the port for our ferry back to Athens. Where else would you find this sort of service?

The rooms and bathrooms are lovely after the renovations. Unfortunately, because the hotel was very busy with a large wedding party we had a room without a sea view. This was a bit disappointing but a minor gripe. Other than this we could not fault the accommodation.

Takis` wine was yummy as were his quails eggs which he served some afternoons with a shot of Raki!! The girls working the pool bar and roof top bar were so lovely and worked hard too.

Brilliantly placed 10 mins walk from Poros and three other restaurants 2 minutes away. Loved Askeli beach and had a great lunch in a taverna there. Didn`t feel the need to hire scooter or quad bike. Taxis are so cheap and the bus service is very reliable.

We are talking of when we will return already. Look forward to seeing the family again soon.

Room tip: ask for seaview as rooms at the side are definitely not. All rooms have balconies.

Staying at the Saga Hotel was a lovely experience - a welcoming drink from Zefi, a spacious room with a balcony and great view, a delicious breakfast & a trip to the top of the hill overlooking the port. It is, however, quite a walk from the Flying Dolphin terminal if you have heavy luggage.

"Perfect end to our honeymoon "

    Rate:  5 Stars

My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Saga Hotel at the end of our honeymoon. The room was spotless, had a great view of the bay and had the most high-tech shower I`ve ever seen, haha. The location, breakfast and other amenities were nice but most important of all, Zefi was an amazing host. Ferries back the mainland were all full but she was able to work some magic to get us tickets and she also arranged for a taxi to take us through some of Athens`s highlights on our way back to the airport. Very professional!

"A beautiful, very clean hotel with spacious rooms and a great view."

    Rate:  5 Stars

My boyfriend and I spent a week at the Saga Hotel in Poros in early June. The hotel is situated in the most convenient and nicest part of Poros. The rooms are very spacious and clean (recently refurbished) and the hotel also has a great view of the island. The family that owns the hotel is very hospitable and kind. We really enjoyed our stay there and really look forward to going back. Poros is a beautiful island and much to my surprise very green. The beaches are also very nice and there is plenty to do and see whether you are there for a short visit or staying longer. If you are visiting the island I definitely recommend that you stay at the Saga Hotel.

    "Just wonderful! "

    Rate:  5 Stars

My husband and I spent two weeks here at the end of July 2012. We were a bit worried about spending so much time in a small hotel in one place, but all worries were unfounded as Zeffi, Takis and the family have created such a wonderful holiday experience at the Saga. The right tone was set from the start when we received a phone call from Zeffi to check that we were all organised for the transfer from Athens. We arrived after 10:00 p.m. and one of Zeffi`s daughters gave us a welcome glass of wine and also cooked us a meal! We had the suite which is really spacious and has an amazing view across the harbour from the balcony. The friendliness is infectious and we met some lovely people. However, nothing is forced on you and it`s fine to keep to yourself too. This is the magic - everyone can just relax and be themselves. The family and staff are always on hand to make sure you have everything you need for example, Zeffi kindly set up the TV in the dining room for us to watch the Wimbledon final! We hired a car from the airport, for the two weeks, but you really don`t need one as taxis and transport are plentiful and cheap. It was great, however, to be able to visit the ancient capital, Nafplio, the theatre at Epidavros, the ruins of Mycenae and explore the villages and coastal areas of the mainland. This part of Greece is lovely and green even in summer. The hotel is brilliantly situated with a beach, local supermarket and waterfront tavernas just minutes away and the town only a short walk. Perfect for romantic strolls in the barmy evening heat! The island did not feel `touristy` at all - just down to earth, relaxed and happy - we are certainly not ones for tourist tat and disco bars! We have never returned to the same hotel for a holiday, but we have found a very special corner of the world and plan to return. Thank you very much everyone (including the dogs, budgies and Freddie the parrot!) at the SAGA!

Room tip: Definitely get a sea view if you can.

    "A piece of paradise"

    Rate:  5 Stars

The saga hotel is the friendliest, most welcoming and comfortable hotels I have experienced. The situation is perfect for exploring the island, and mainland (if you make it that far)! Takis, Zefi and their lovely family make this hotel a magical place to stay and ensure that every guest that stays has a unique Taylor made holiday that will leave you yearning to return. The rooms have been upgraded, the air conditioning is first class and the shower rooms are beautiful. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and the balconies have great views. The pool is very welcome and the roof top terrace offers a unique and relaxed atmosphere with a lovely ambience and great views. We have visited this hotel at Easter(Greek orthodox) and in the summer and would thoroughly recommend to families, or couples young -old. There are many ways to transfer to the island from Athens and Zefi will always help anyone who is unsure.

"Great hotel fantastic atmosphere and service."

    Rate:  5 Stars

We stayed at the Saga Poros for 10 days in August. The hotel rooms had just been upgraded. Lovely hotel with a swimming pool and fantastic service. The hotel was very clean with the rooms being cleaned daily. Takis and Zefi the owners were the most welcoming hosts you could ever wish for, nothing was too much trouble. Transfers from Athens airport were arranged for us. They have their own vineyard so all the wine from the hotel was local and organic. You will not find a better , welcoming and friendly hotel than the saga on Poros. If you go you will always want to return.
