"nice holiday"

Rate:  5 Stars

We had a lovely hodiday. I can recommend you this hotel. The weather is always hot, the swimmingpools are nice, with salt water what is good - because you are next to the sea. So if anybody doesn´t like it they should stay at home!!!! The hotel is good for families. There is a mini and maxi club. The animation team is perfect. They speak english, french, german, russian, italian... So everybody can choose. There is a minidisco every night and an evening shows for adult after as well.
The staff is very kind, the kitchen is also very good. I think everybody can choose whatever you want. I dont´t like when somebody says - the food was not hot - because it was. The food was warm enough for everybody , and in here - crete - it´s too hot to eat warm food - I ate
all of the cold salads - there were delitious.
The room was clean - but anyway you don´t spent such a long time there, becouse you are outside :-D
The only thing what I didn´t like was to wake up at 7 a.m. to get sunbeds next to the swimming pool ,but I didn´t mind because we spent
there the whole day with children.
I can recomend you this hotel. For everybody who always complain - please stay at home - this is the best for you.)))))))

"Nice enough but I wouldn`t return."

Rate:  4 Stars

We (self, husband, 1 yr old, 12 yr old and extended family) stayed here for 10 nights starting 26 July.

Food

Like others have said it was very repetitive and what was dinner one night would be lunch the next day. Now I can`t complain about not wanting to waste food in these times but things like `sausage salad` & `fish in mayonnaise sauce` are not appealing! Also I was rather puzzled as to why the food seemed to be aimed at other Europeans when there were almost twice as many British as any other nationality. That being said you will always find something to eat, even if it would not be your first choice. Breakfast is about the best meal of the day and the kids loved the pancakes and waffles (if you are early) plus it goes on until late if you don`t want to be up first thing.

Drinks

This hotel was advertised as having `international branded drinks` as part of the all Inc which swayed us when booking as we have experienced some paint thinner drinks in other hotels before. While the drinks in the Creta panorama are nice and drinkable, I did not see any brands that I recognised (and I have lived abroad too). When I enquired about this I was informed that drinks such as `smirnoff etc` are premium brand drinks and not available as part of the all Inc unless you are Spanish?!!! Also, you are not allowed any cocktails other than the cocktail of the day, but that is another story!

Service

The service we received was really mixed. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to help us. Particularly the young woman on the door who took our baby`s bottles into the kitchen to clean them properly every day. I never got her name and the waiting staff always had a smile and nice word despite the mess and chaos our little one produced.

I`d also like to mention Doris, who served at the entertainment arena most nights and always had a smile despite how busy it got.

Unfortunately not all the staff were as nice. The was one particular barman at the entertainment arena who actually snarled when you asked him for a drink and slammed them down on the counter. I suspect he may have been forced to work there at gunpoint! We always avoided him when possibe but When we asked him for a black russian (vodka & coffee liquor) on our last night he refused and told us that we were only allowed the cocktail of the day. This is despite the fact we had had this drink numerous times from various other staff throughout the previous 9 days. The reception staff seemed to have a similar attitude. If you asked them anything you were made to feel like you were bothering them!

Pools

Now I knew they were salt water pools when we booked this holiday but I can not emphasise enough how salty they are. If it gets in your eyes you will be in pain. It reacted with the kids sunscreen to sting them and destroyed any clothes that it came into contact with. I think there are also chemicals in there too. Of course the pool area is slippery. This happens anywhere tiles are wet!

On the plus side we never had any problem getting a sunbed, as long as you are a bit flexible. The main pool fills up fast but there are others available and we were even able to get 7 beds together at 8 o`clock one morning.

Entertainment

I have never come across an animation team more dedicated and they ensure that no one needs to be bored day or night. While the evening shows are not exactly Broardway standard you can see a lot of work has gone into them and they fill a couple of hours a lot better than other teams I have seen in 5* resorts. My only grumble is they stopped my 17 month old from participating in the mini disco because he was doing his own thing rather than following the actions!?! He had 2 people with him to ensure he could not come to or cause any harm so this really put a dampener on our holiday as we had to ensure we were not in the arena when it was on because he would get upset that he couldn`t take part :(

A couple of words to the wise- if you don`t pay for the BBQ or beach party you will be bored on a Thursday. Not very fair!

Accommodation

The grounds are beautiful and the views breathtaking. However the actual rooms are a little run down. We had a shower curtain pole fall down, a bath that wouldn`t empty, a door that wouldn`t lock and a unit with a faulty door that fell off and hurt my babys foot!

Overall we had a good holiday but I wouldn`t return. Sorry if this review seems to go on a little but I wanted to give as a complete a picture as possible.

We have just returned from a fantastic 10 day holiday at the Creta Panorama.Party of five with two children the hotel catered for us all big and small.First impresssions were great and just got better from porter taking our luggage to our top floor room to reception staff, animation ,waiters, cleaners ,chambermaids nothing was too much trouble.Rooms had breathtaking sea views spotless and very comfortable.Pools great we tended to stay at main pool as chidren loved maxi club and all the activities they offered, downside being reserving sunbeds but did get easier out of school holidays.Salt water pool did take abit of getting used to but hey ho thats only criticism we had.Animation staff work flat out to make it a memorable holiday Aaron in particular kept the kids amused and i think had more energy than them, our eldest daughter played everything from water polo to going on a banana boat for the first time great memories!Food was varied plentiful and good,Favourite with the kids was 4 o clock in the lobby bar while they made crepes to order while we waited for them and had a glass of champagne a habit that is going to be hard to break! If you wanted alittle change in the evening alovely trip on the little train into Panorma is a must typical Greece .Went to one of main restaurants on first trip and was ripped off!25 euros for a bottle of wine ,but on our return found a fantastic bar ELIAS home made white wine to die for at 1 euro 50.Cant beat sitting outside a traditonal greek taverna under grape vines watching the world go by.Lovely guy who owns it and makes you very welcome.Could write about so many happy memories at creta panorama so think that covers everything just look at all the fantastic reviews they speak for them selves so for a family holiday with fab hotel with memorable sea views ticks all the boxes just book it!

Room tip: we had a fifth floor room with pool and sea views to die for over looking calypso bar but never hear...

"Gorgeous Holiday"

Rate:  5 Stars

We were very unsure about this holiday as we have cruised for the past 3 years. But we have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I cannot think of any drawbacks to staying here. The staff are wonderfully friendly and efficient particularly the restaurant staff, the outside pool bar staff and the entertainment staff (including kids club). Amazing!! They cannot possibly be paid enough! We stayed here just before the british schools had broken up and at this time there was mostly russians, the french, germans and the rest british and others, very cosmopolitan. We booked through Thomas Cook for two weeks all inclusive in a family garden room.

The rooms (see photos) were cleaned every day, very thoroughly and the air conditioning was excellent. We stayed in room 2317 which was quiet but only a short walk from 4 of the 5 pools and the kids club.

There was always food to be found and we all looked forward to the main meal times. You are entitled to one meal a week in the themed restaurant but the choice was extremely limited and not child friendly so we did not participate.

Down at Bay 2 you can do watersports (paid separately) , we went on the UFO - AMAZING! Never laughed so much and our (just) 7 year old wanted to go on again (arhh the young and supple)!

The hotel does not promote itself as well as it should, or example the map you are given is out of date and you have to make enquiries about where to get equipment from (Beach Hut is a good port of call for everything). The entertainment staff put classes on like water gym and aerobics, yoga, pilates, stretching etc As well as organising kids clubs and adult?mixed water polo and volleyball etc. There is always something to do if you wish to do it.

The evening entertainment is entertaining, not always for the intended reasons but you cannot fault the enthusiasm.

There is a trip available on "the little train", this was well worth the money. Also catch the bus into Rethymnon (about 25/30 mins) 2 euros each way, the old town is beautiful and has many wonderful shops which are not overpriced. If you like Pandora, we were able to get charms and a silver bracelet for between 5 and 10 pounds cheaper than here at home. We also ate at a wonderful restaurant called AVLI on the corner of Xanthoudidou and Radamanthios street in the old town.

If you do nothing else, eat the ice cream - to die for! Both in the hotel and out and about, this is ice cream heaven, the best I have tasted anywhere!!

The Hotel shops are surprising reasonable, certainly not a rip off and the jewellery shop has some lovely pieces (including Pandora, although more expensive than in Rethymnon, still cheaper than here).

Be Aware/Tips
Mosquitos not so bad but ants are around (easily squashed). Take plenty of suntan but should you run out the shops sell it and the local stuff is cheaper and just as good. Take plenty of hair conditioner!! The salt water pool can play havoc with your hair. There is a hairdresser but he was only at the hotels on two days also the gym is only open until 2pm but you can use the other hotels gym (if you can be bothered). It is extra for use of the gym and sauna, I think 18 euros for 6 days use of the gym. The hairdryer in the bathroom is ok but if you depend on a hairdryer take your own. The fridge is very handy, save water bottles and fill up at breakfast. The wine is terrible (although plenty of people were drinking it - rocket fuel!) you can pay extra, or take your own from local shops/duty free or mix it.

We would go again and from the people I spoke to, plenty do.

Room tip: Garden rooms away from the outside theatre, unless you like noise until around 10.30/11 pm.

"Beautiful Location, Fabulous Hotel"

Rate:  5 Stars

We have been to many All Inclusive Hotels over the last few years in a variety of locations - Mexico, Turkey, Spain this was the best by far. It is the little touches that makes this hotel stands out from the rest.

First of all the Hotel accommodation - we had a bungalow and opened our patio doors to a view of the sea. When we went into the bungalow there was a bottle of red wine and fresh fruit to welcome us to the resort. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The main room had a huge bed, fitted wardrobes lots of cupboards, table and chair. Then another room which had a bed for our daughter and fridge, stocked with beer, juice, water, cups, glasses, tea, coffee etc, then onto the bathroom. The rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels, and beds changed when you wanted. Any issues were dealt with promptly and rectified immediately, for example we had a problem with the lock on the bathroom door, fixed that day, we requested a few more hangers, again they were delivered later that day.

The Hotel grounds are pristine, beautiful flowers, trees etc and lots of little paths taking you from the main Hotel to the bungalows, pools, coves etc. It is so pretty.

The food is the best we have had at an All Inclusive, with lots to choose from. Breakfast there was fresh omelettes, pancakes, waffles, eggs, variety of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, muffins etc. Fresh coffee would be on your table but there was also tea, hot chocolate on offer. Lunch could be had at the main restaurant on the Taverna beside the main pool. Again lots of choice, pasta, salads, hamburgers, hot dogs. The bar up beside one of the other pools (Creta Mare) would also offer sandwiches and cakes which were already prepared. In the afternoon freshly made crepes were made at this bar too, and staff would come round all the pools offering watermelon, bananas and other fruit. Dinner at night offered the same wide choice with freshly cooked, pasta, fish and meat as well as a huge variety of salads. Desserts were amazing cakes, pastries, and pattisieries as well as ice cream. We treated ourselves to a bottle of wine with our meal, Pinot Grigio which cost 13 euros as there was a 30% discount. The wine and beer are on tap on the restaurant and are fine but it was just nice to sit and watch the sun go down with a nice chilled bottle of wine.

The view out to sea from the restaurant and the Terrace Bar are amazing all day round but particularly when the sun sets.

The staff in the restaurants and the bars are all lovely and always make you feel welcome and are more than happy to help. They could teach the reception staff a thing our too. Reception was the only area that let this Hotel down. There aren`t enough staff on and none of them have the same happy smile you find elsewhere in the Hotel, from the Cleaners to Maintenance staff, which given they are on Reception seems strange. This didn`t spoil our stay in anyway but if there was on piece of advice we would give the Hotel Manager and Iberostar it would be increase the number of staff on Reception and get them some lessons on dealing with customers, ie. smile, be more welcoming and deal with one customer at a time, don`t go between two when you haven`t finished dealing with the first customers request.

There are four pools, one small kids pool for use as well as the cove areas and beach. The main pool as you would imagine is busy but not overly noisy. We tended to spend our time up at the Pool next to the Creta Mare Bar, it`s nice and quiet - both of these pools and the other bigger pool were sea water pools. There is another pool which overlooks the beach this is a not a sea water pool as is the small kids pool.

There are lots of sun beds, on the first week of our holiday we could grab a bed either just before breakfast around 9am or after. The second week though the Hotel did get busier and people were reserving beds before 8am. It does seem a bit ridiculous but it doesn`t bother me too much and think it was worse around the pool areas. If you wanted to sit out on the grass areas overlooking the sea it wasn`t quite as bad.

Now on to the real stars of this Hotel the Animation Team. They are a credit to the Hotel and Iberostar. Before we had our daughter Animation Shows etc were not really our thing, however, as parents of an 8 year old who loves them we are always happy to go along, after all it`s her holiday too. The work the Team do to put these shows on is amazing, and they play to packed audiences every night. The only night that the Theatre wasn`t standing room only was on a Tuesday the Team`s day off when a professional act would come along!!

The Team is made up of around 11 people from a variety of countries, Italy, Spain, Britain, Romania, Holland etc. It`s led by Simon from Italy. All of them work incredibly hard all day long running Mini, Maxi and Teenie Clubs from 10:00am to 12:30pm and 3:00pm to 5:30pm. They also orgainise, Water Polo, Volleyball, Archery and Ping Pong, Competions etc. In between all this they rehearse for the show that evening.

Big thank you to all of the Team for making our little girls holiday you made her feel so special, but particularly to Dagmar, Lola and Maria at the Mini Club, Erika, Nina, Simone and Georgie - Emma loved you all to bits and has told everyone back at home all about you.

We would highly recommend this Hotel and would say it deserves it`s four star rating. We would definitely go back and if this is an example of an Iberostar Hotel I would look to stay in other one of their Hotels in the future.

Room tip: Ask for a bungalow they are more expensive but worth every penny.

"Almost perfect!"

Rate:  5 Stars

We (husband, son aged 17 and daughter aged 15 and I ) stayed for two weeks at the Creta Panorama. On arrival, the reception staff were friendly and efficient and made a real effort to ensure we had suitable rooms (we had asked for adjacent rooms but none were available so we ended up three rooms apart in the main hotel which was fine). Rooms were a very good size for two people and were very clean, and kept that way throughout our stay. The hotel itself and surrounding grounds were also immaculate. Food was great with plenty of choice throughout the day, and the desserts were to die for, as my expanded waistline proves! You helped yourself to soft drinks at most of the bars and in the restuarants which meant there was no queuing. The restaurant staff were friendly and efficient and made sure tables were cleared very quickly. Our daughter went to `teeny` club (and made so many new friends) run by the lovely Maro who I think deserves a medal for keeping them all under control and occupied and also for his enthusiasm! Must mention some of the other animators, George, Mena (great Zumba instructor) and Aaron. Thank you for your hard work.

Just a few negative points which didn`t ruin the holiday but I feel I should point out. We have been to many all inclusive hotels but this is the first one where we have had to pay a non-refunable payment for safety deposit boxes (48 euro per room for two weeks) which we felt was unfair. We also had to pay to use the gym, which had seen better days (18 euros per person for 6 days) and the wi-fi (25 euros per connection for two weeks - teenagers can`t live without internet!). You also had to pay to hire tennis rackets although the courts were free to use. These are all minor issues but we felt it didn`t make the hotel fully inclusive. Also if you like to walk into a town this is not the hotel for you as it is on a main road in the middle of nowhere (which didn`t bother us as we were looking for a relaxing holiday).

We all totally loved this hotel and would add it to our list of places to re-visit. We met lots of lovely people, so thank you Creta Panorama for a memorable and relaxing holiday!

There is a road train which runs to the village from outside the hotel entrance and a bus stop from the main road 100mtrs away which takes you to Rethymnon town. Just returned from a week at this hotel, great food, entertainment and the animation team were very funny. They play great music round the pool but you can also relax. The lobby bar is a nice place to end the day before you go for a shower and the food was varied especially the cakes. The Gala night was so romantic by the pool and what great sunsets. Only comment would be that some bars need to be adults only and maybe keep the theater bar for families.
If you want a beach holiday this is not for you, two main bays but shingles not sand.
Days out ans watersports very exspensive but this is probably due to the ROE of the Euro.
Would go back again 9/10

Lovely holiday. Weather was fab. Views were stunning. Hotel away from the town but only a 4 euro return bus ride away.
Staff & animation team were great and nothing ever any trouble. It was a very busy hotel and could be quite loud, but you could easily escape to quieter places/bars on the complex. Rooms were clean and air con worked a treat . Food was lovely, only downside was they couldn`t keep up with filling food trays up quick enough.. . and.. you had to be up very early for a sun bed...Maybe this was due to the busy season.
All in all a brilliant holiday.

Returned last week from lovely holiday at Creta Panoramo. Staff great, friendly and pleasant, food good. We stayed in one of the garden "bungalows" which was a real treat. Only 3rd time been to All Inclusive and this is the best. Try The Little Train to Panormo village, nice breeze! Would definitely recommend the hotel and resort. Usual tiny moan, you couldn`t get a bed round the pool unless you got up at the crack of dawn! Instead spent days at a little man-made cove - lovely!!!

Just got back from 1 week at the Creta Panorama, had a fab holiday, weather was very hot. Sunbed situation is quite bad, people were up at 5.30 putting towels on beds despite the notices saying any towels put on bed before 8.00 am would be removed. The food was good, got better as the week went on, the day time snack bar was handy and you could help your self to soft drinks, wine, beer or coffee so this was a good thing. Entertainment was excellent, the animation team are one of the best we`ve seen, pool was lovely and warm. Lobby bar after evening meal was a lovely place to sit and watch the sun go down. Room was very comfortable and maid service excellent. All in all I was very pleased with my stay and this hotel and they seemed to cater well for children of all ages. Went into Rethymnon on the bus, 2 euros each way, well worth the money. Also went into Panormo on the little train, this was also good value for money. Not a lot outside the hotel, but hotel had quite a lot going on so this wasn`t too bad.

"Superb hotel suitable for all"

Rate:  5 Stars

Just back from a 2 week all-inclusive holiday at this hotel, first time in an Iberostar hotel and it won`t be the last. I e:mailed the hotel before we left as this was part of my wifes birthday (a milestone one , enough said) and they upgraded us to the 3rd floor into a family room, an excellent start and it just got better.
Staff in all areas of the hotel were always willing to help and most spoke good English.
Food and drinks were excellent but watch out for the frozen cocktails some of them sneek up on you.
Sunset over the sea was wonderful to watch every evening.
The highlight of the holiday was the entertainment team, the shows they put on were superb and they were always about doing something different to entertain the customers, above and beyond the call of duty.
Hotel is a bit out of the way but the bus service is good and cheap, and we did use this just to get our bearings into Rethymnon, although we had a hire car.
We also walked into Panormo, lovely village about 3 km away, we walk a lot but this was not enjoyable as the road is used heavily by buses, lorries and cars, at one stage on one of the narrower stretches we were backed into a hedge to get out of the road of a bus. If you`re going to visit use the little train that runs each day but be aware that it only runs in the afternoon as there are excursions in the morning.
There are a few bays to allow swimming in the sea but be aware there is little sand so some footwear is needed also the sunbeds are hired out by the hotel so a cheap way to avoid this is to buy a plastic lilo and use this to lie on as well as in the sea.
We use a laptop to keep in touch with our grandkids and the wifi was only 15E per week which I felt was very good and cheap.
Having the car allowed us to visit a few of the local sights and the roads were good but some of the views were breathtaking.
Yes we would recommend this hotel and we will be back soon.

Just returned from an excellent 2 wk holiday at the Creta Panorama. Very clean hotel with near perfect views ( particularly at sunset ). Animation team are as good as it gets and not at all imposing , just very professional and fun to talk to. There is a very varied choice of rooms to suit everyone and the grounds are spotless. Pool bars are now open as hotel is becoming busier but sunbed reserving is quite an issue, the hotel has a " no towels before 8am " policy but it is not enforced. Pools are incredibly warm and perfect for small children even though they are saltwater ( keep a towel handy for wiping eyes ). Food is plentiful and varied with the salads being particularly good. There is a wide range of all-inclusive drinks available with very few restrictions. There is a little train which runs to Panormo about 2 miles away and a regular bus service to Rethymnon if you fancy a shop. All told a very good 4 star hotel for families with young children, would return next year.

Room tip: Bay rooms with sea view are best .

Quiet location, a little isolated, but as it`s an all inclusive resort, there really isn`t any need for any other bars or restaurants. There is a regular bus service running in to Rethymnon, or to Panorma for those who want to do some exploring. 2 euros each way, picked up from outside the hotel. Rooms were simple, but spacious. Maids did a good job of keeping everything tidy, with clean bed linen and towels everyday. All the pools are salt water, so bring goggles if you want to swim - really stings the eyes. The landscaping around the resort is beautiful, and the 2 man made harbours are lovely for swimming and snorkelling in, especially if you go after 3pm when you don`t have to pay for the sunbeds. The restaurant, bar and entertainment staff were all very pleasant, helpful and always smiling. There was lots going on everyday (water polo, aquaerobics, zumba, ping pong, kids clubs etc) if you wanted to get involved, but no pressure, if you just wanted to sit back and relax. Food was delicious and varied, with something for everyone. Different international specials every night or basic pizza chips etc for fussy kids. The view of the sunset from the restaurant is beautiful.

Room tip: Superior bungalows have great accessto a quieter pool.

"Be aware if going with baby!"

Rate:  3 Stars

Having read all the reviews before booking our holiday, we felt sure it would be a suitable hotel for us and our 3 children (aged 8, 6 and young baby)
We`ve just returned from a weeks stay and have mixed feelings about this property.
For anyone travelling with a young baby, be aware that despite First Choice advertising baby bottle warmers, they do not actually have ANY the hotel, or so reception informed me. Not really a big problem, as the brochure stated that my upgraded family bungalow would have tea and coffee, but sadly it didn`t have a kettle either. I couldn`t make up, or warm any bottles without having to go to the restaurant for hot water. I did eventually get a kettle after a battle. The restaurant does have high chairs as such, but ensure you take a harness or seat cover, as it literally is a `high` chair with no straps or fastenings. There are no baby changing areas in any public areas, so you need to take out a travel mat or go back to your room. The pools (bar one) are all salt water and if baby gets the water in their eyes they know about it, also they are not shallow enough to `paddle` in. We did ask at the towel hut where the non salt water pool was and got laughed at, so they must get asked a hell of a lot! Because people don`t tend to sit round the beaches, there seems to be a battle for sunbeds around the main pool (where the entertainment is). I believe last year, the hotel stopped people reserving beds with towels, however, we noticed a lot of other nationalities (mainly Russians) reserving beds from 6.30am! We actually booked two early morning calls so we had an opportunity to sit under an umbrella ourselves.
Just to note, safety deposit boxes are a non refundable 24 euros.
We found Reception to be `lukewarm` at best, maybe becasue we had problems with our room not having a sea view (although it was paid for) plus our patio door was left unlocked every day of our holiday by housekeeping (we politely mentioned on 3 occasions that the door was hard to lock)
Nothing to do with the hotel, but if you get the bus into Rethymnon, it can really hard to catch a bus back,as they get so full. The bus stop going, is directly outside the hotel, coming back its on the side of a very busy M1 type road. We had to run accross several lanes of traffic and lift the buggy over a barrier. Apparently there is an underpass further away from the hotel you can use, but we didn`t know this at the time.
On the plus side....
Housekeeping, very nice, changed towels every day if needed. Turned down beds each evening and left some little sweets on your beds (even in the baby cot!)
The restaurant was fantastic, we couldn`t fault any of the meals, or choices. The Maitre was a lovely friendly man and couldn`t do enough for you. Our children found something they liked every meal time and they even have a little area for childrens food. We didn`t do any of the theme evenings as our kids liked to go and get all their meals and drinks themsleves.
The Animation team were fantastic. The kids loved them and the highlight of their day was the evening entertainment (although sometimes the shows could be a little risky with the humour!!) The Animation team also had lots of day time activities for both adults and children alike.
The long and short of it....be extra prepared if taking babies and toddlers. Good for older children and couples.

"New to all inclusive and pleasantly surprised!"

Rate:  5 Stars

We booked this holiday with friends, and all inclusive suited us as there was no arguing over whose round it was! I must admit before travelling I was worried about what the food would be like but once we were there I had nothing to worry about. Plenty of choice, some food cooked fresh in front of you, lots of Greek options and plenty of choice for our fussy children! We booked a superior bungalow which despite its name was still quite basic but very clean and very spacious (despite still being a hotel room). Our friends booked the same and we requested our rooms next to each other which wasn`t a problem. The location of the room was perfect. We had ground floor with a terrace that overlooked one of the quieter pools with a pool bar (downside - the bar closed at 3pm) so was very handy for nipping back to the room. The grounds were beautiful and well kept and most of the pools were salt water and surprisingly not freezing cold when you get in! All the staff were friendly and any requests were taken care of very quickly. I have to say though like most of the other reviews the animation team made the holiday! I`ve never been a big fan of hotel entertainment but the effort and enthusiasm that the team put in to the shows was admirable! The kids (aged 7, 3 and 2) absolutely loved the kids disco every night and had a bit of a soft spot for Mina! It was a shame we had only booked a week there and I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend this hotel to other friends!

"Fabulous!"

Rate:  5 Stars

We stayed at this hotel for 11 nights from end June to early July as a family of four. The hotel and complex is beautiful, really clean and well maintained. We stayed in a superior bungalow which was nice and spacious, although they are two storey blocks and there is a little walk (only a few minutes) to the entertainment but well worth it as its really quiet there. They are in the quietest location on the front side of the main building, the waterfront bungalows are on the opposite site which are single storey but nearer the entertainment complex. You can pretty much get food at any time during the day - breakfast served from 7am to 12 midday! Great selection of food. The entertainment team work extremely hard and are great with kids. There are several kids clubs for different ages 6 days a week which is no extra charge and is open 10:30am - 12 and 3-5pm (my 4 year old loved it). The beaches at the hotel complex are pebbles not sand but you can get a little train for 2euros per adult into Panormo a nearby town which has a lovely beach and shops. We had a wonderful time and would go back there - would recommend!

Room tip: Superior bungalows are in the quietest location

"nice hotel, but shame for Wi-Fi"

Rate:  4 Stars

Really nice hotel, nice staff, good location, good food. all is nice! only one thing - really poor Wi-Fi. it`s shame to offer such a quality of internet in our days for such a hotel. and it`s double shame to take money for it. but if people does not need it - then it is really recommended hotel.

"Fantastic!!!!!"

Rate:  4 Stars

Just returned from a week at this hotel and had a fab time...my partner and I wanted a relaxing week away and that`s what we had!!!! We stayed in the main hotel with a lovely sea view..beds a little hard but nothing to complain about, the only criticism would be that the bathrooms could do with a little renovation....the food was exceptional...catered for all and lots of delicious choices....(and I am always critical of the holiday food).. But I could not complain about a thing in the restaurants....
The staff were all very friendly ( except for the maintenance man) very unhelpful....
The hotels only fault is the traditional sunbed saga.....you could guarentee a bed if you got up at 5 to get one...which is not what I call a relaxing holiday...we complained to the manager but was simply told there was nothing they could do to enforce this..even though they had a written policy around the pool areas that no reservation was allowed....
And just be aware that all but one of the pools are sea water..which doesn`t really refresh you when you jump in as it was like jumping into a bath...
The hotel is in a good sea location but only shingle beach a 10 minute walk away out of the complex....there are 2 small coves which you can have sun beds and an umbrella but you have to pay a charge for these( a bit of a cheek)... but nothing else to see or do when here unless you want to go out in a bus or taxi....but suited us as we were happy to stay at the hotel and chill....there were lots of entertainment for all the family in the day and night...so if you wanted all this fun it was there to be had....

Room tip: The complex has lots of different rooms at different prices..but did not visit any others....If in t...

"Best Holiday Ever!"

Rate:  5 Stars

I came with my husband to celebrate the anniversary of our first date (the anniversary of the first time decided we would definitely find time to see each other again. So for us this day is as big as our wedding day because look what it lead to!). We were looking for an AI away from any stress factors you find in major cities with shopping centres etc.. a place where we could just be together and didn`t `Have to Always Do Something` holiday....and we found that, place it`s here, this 4 Star hotel with 5 Star service!

We arrived at about 11.30am and were given a room in the hotel. The room was lovely and clean and overlooked the main pool . All was fine except I found the music and general noise from the pool area disturbed me and when I realised that we were likely to hear the music coming from the disco each night I went down to reception to see if it was possible to have a room in a more quite part of the hotel. The reception team were excellent in their response, with no fuss, no additional charges and just a short wait at the desk the team found and offered us a bungalow away from the main building but still nice and close to all activity. Again spotlessly clean and pleasant, with a gorgeous sea view. While we were enjoying watching the fabulous Animation team that first night the hotel team placed an anniversary gift into our room- taking us by complete surprise. This treat could only have been organised by the reception team, we value to Reception team 5 Stars for service and excellence.

The food in the restaurant had so much choice! All the restaurant team were so so friendly and encouraged us to try everything. All the food was freshly prepared and very well presented. To cope with this huge choice we decided to do a `starter plate` with a small selection of almost everything available and our main plate consisted of going back 1 or 2 times for a larger helping of what we enjoyed the most. We have never felt so naughty, greedy and overindulgent all at once and we loved it! The range in food types ensures that there is something for everyone. Desert choices? well in one word..Awesome. Restaurant team inclusive of the very efficient and friendly waitressing 5 Stars.

The hotel is lovely, 4 pools in the hotel grounds. Beautiful gardens plenty of free to use sunlounges. There is a small private beach and the back of the hotel however we preferred to spend our time swimming and snorkling in the private coves along the side of the hotel... There is a 4 Euro fee for using the sun lounges in the morning, however we were nover charged when we arrived after 2pm. Tip: Bring pool shoes for swimming in the coves, the pebble shale beach will be uncomfortable under your feet; and bring goggles as the saltwater stings your eyes-the hotel pools are also salt water. We witnessed the usual `stupid o-clock` reserving of the sun lounges by the main pools despite hotel signs saying it`s not allowed. These people turn up eventually around 10am or so. I feel that here is where the hotel should do more to enforce its policy. The rule breakers clearly don`t give a - and clearly these few selfish have tainted the enjoyment of the many who come along who are actually ready to get some sun by the pool. So in my view it`s up to management to do more to be part of the solution here as their lack of Effective Enforcement makes them part of the problem.

Entertainment: Animation Team 5 stars. They performed shows every night except Tuesdays and ran the various kids/teen/adult clubs and events during the day. For many guests the animation team are what makes their holiday so memorable. The team are spot on in their approach to guests with their gentle jet persuasive encouragement for you to join in their crazy antics and they do leave you alone if you say no. For us though, the place as a whole made this holiday so special. ALL the staff made our stay at this hotel Great. So for us all the staff own this rating in equal measure

This year we came as two, we have now been home 1 week and have recommended this place to the rest of the family, so it seems certain that next year we come again on-mass!

Room tip: If your room doesn`t suit your requirements just ask reception if one that does is available. I...

"Fantastic Creta Panorama!! Animation Team - Superb!"

Rate:  5 Stars

We stayed the start of the summer holidays for 2 weeks. We arrived at night and we had booked a sea view so we had to wait till the morning. On first inspection of the room we were a bit disappointed. We were in the hotel block and the room was very basic. We woke up to a sea view at the back of the hotel, but most of the hotel rooms have a sea view so don`t bother paying for one! We asked to move to a `nicer` room and the hotel reception moved us to the bungalows which are lovely. (We paid 93 euros for 2 weeks). If you do this please go through your rep as they might be able to do it for nothing as we found out!! Jazmine the first choice rep tried her hardest to get our money refunded but upgrades are at the `hotels discretion`. She did however get us a check out room till 9 and sent bottles of wine to our room.
Be prepared at this time of year for the heat. We could only manage 5 minutes on the sun bed then straight in the pool!

Pro`s - Animation team are just FANTASTIC. All of them were great, but we have to mention Simone and Georgi who really go that extra mile. Our daughter (9) loved all of them. During the day there were lots of activities planned for children and adults. Entertainment at night varied...they definitely worked hard!

Grounds - just lovely. These alone are worth a five star rating.

Food - Lots of choice.

Cleanliness - spotless.

All inclusive - this goes on till 12 in the cocktail bar, then till 1.30 in the disco (all ages)

Staff - all really friendly. (Apart from the staff at reception...they let the hotel down)

Location - This is beautiful, a bit remote, but Panormo is only a little train ride away and that is gorgeous, very quaint and traditional. Lovely for a meal out.

Pools - 6 different pools. All salt water apart from 1 (see below)

Cons

Saltwater pools - You do get used to them but they really do sting your eyes!!

Sunbeds...usual moan!!

We had a fantastic time and will return when our daughter is a teenager. This hotel is superb for families with teenagers as they are well catered for during the day and night.

Make sure you explore the ground as this is where you`ll find the fresh water pool which has fantastic views of the beach.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. A huge thank you to all of the team who made it so special for us.

Room tip: Go for a sea view bungalow.

"Good break at Creta Panorama"

Rate:  4 Stars

Just returned from 1 week holiday. (31.7.12) Travelled with husband and 2 teenagers (15 and 13 yrs) Thoroughly enjoyed the break:- Pros;- beautiful gardens, excellent views, lovely relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, animation team worked very hard throughout the day and kept our 2 teenagers thoroughly entertained along with the many other teenagers. Felt like a safe environment. Rooms spotless clean, towels changed daily, great air conditioning. Pools great temperature.

Cons;- Food was a bit disappointing, trays of food not filled up quick enough, therefore often had to queue. Have been to many AI properties before in Turkey and have found these to be offering a better stadard/quality of food. Lots and lots of pasta dishes, pasta salad, pasta with bacon, pasta bolognese, pasta with cheese etc offered every day - get the picture -1 or 2 pasta dishes a day would have been enough.
Also did not agree that if you wished to use the facility of the indoor pool then you had to pay, for this. No mention of this on the net. The loungers at the beach incurred a cost of 4 euros each, since they belonged to the property felt this should have been included. Also themed nights "BBQ Night" and "Beach Party Night" (Thurs) came at a cost. If like us you didn`t want to go it was tough because the animation team were all there and so for that evening there was no entertainment on just within the Lobby Bar a man playing keyboard. The teens club in the afternoon - one of the activities was "Banana Boat" but if you wanted to participate then it was 10 euros. Also did not know before going (never been to Crete before) that you had to put the toilet paper in the bins provided and could not flush it down the toilet. Apparently an island thing not the fault of the hotel.

Had to be up early for a lounger, hotel needs to enforce that if they are reserved for long periods of time then the towels should be removed.

Did not find the beds in the rooms comfortable at all. Very hard.

All in all had a lovely time and I would recommend it however on a personal level don`t think I would go back myself it didn`t quite tick all the boxes but we all like different things.

Room tip: Got to see one of the suites which was decorated exactly the same as the rooms within the hotel. Ju...
