"Great Stay"

Rate:  5 Stars

The Alsos house is literally right at the base of the rocks, which was great on the return hike into town. Down the trail and you are there... in 5 minutes you are on the patio drinking cold wine! Room was large and set up well great view of rocks and nice patio. Bathroom clean, hair dryer and a funny (cool) surprise when you open the toilet... a light up seat! Owner friendly & helpful and they did laundry for us for €10
It is hard to get any decent hiking map in town. The TI is esentially closed with minimal information. It is good to have a helpful innkeeper.

"4 nights in the Alsos House"

Rate:  5 Stars

We originally arrange for a stay of 2 nights, but after the first night decided we wanted to stay for longer. The hotel itself was clean wth daily sheet changing. The hotel owner Yannis made us welcome from the minute we walked through the door. He was able to advise us on places to go and where to eat of an evening. My first thought on meeting Yannis was his likeness to Tom Conti and yes he was like him. He spent time with us down the town in the local taverna and wow could he play the bazooki. Would I go back to the same hotel, yes I would..... felt totally at home, made very welcome and the cost was minimal. Good luck Yannis with everything you do but please get a toaster lol

Room tip: no tip needed all the rooms were excellent

"Great staff and versatile location"

Rate:  5 Stars

Not only was Alsos House in a perfect location to enjoy Meteora, Greece, but we had the opportunity to enjoy the company of the apartments` truly friendly owner. The view from the rooms are effortlessly rewarding--you wake up in the morning to the sight of Meteora`s impressive rocks and are immediately encouraged to enjoy the natural beauty of Greece for the day. Additionally the hotel is in a convenient location to enjoy hiking of various levels in the tranquil rocks above, as well as a moderately busy town within a 10 minute`s walk down below you. The restful beauty of this location was complemented by a special treat when our student group had the good fortune to eat out with Yannis; we talked politics over dinner and then had the opportunity to learn Greek Zorba dancing from Yannis and some of his local friends. It truly was a happy memory I will keep for a lifetime and I enjoyed my entire stay in Kalampaka, Greece despite rainy weather during half our time there! Highly recommended for those who enjoy good company, peaceful nature or a town with all essential shops untainted by too much tourism.

"Wonderful Home Base for Meteora"

Rate:  5 Stars

Alsos House is right at the base of the Meteora cliffs, making it a perfect location for us to go hiking in the morning. We spent two nights there, and really enjoyed it. There is wi-fi, which was nice, and the owner of the hotel was very friendly, talking to us during breakfast. The rooms were comfortable, with a balcony out to an amazing view of the rocks. It also wasn`t very expensive, and so overall was completely worth it. Highly recommend staying here.

"Friendly staff, fantastic view"

Rate:  4 Stars

This was a charming hotel. Yannis and his wife are wonderful people who are extremely hospitable. The hotel is cozy and secluded enough that you can sit back and enjoy the terrific view from the newly expanded front porch. The nearby town is charming and I had one of my best meals in Greece at a restaurant one minute from the hotel.
