"A pleasant little break"

Rate:  4 Stars

This review has proven very difficult for me to write. I`m so 50/50 and in two minds (maybe its because I feel like I`m reviewing 2 hotels here)....
Let me explain....... The Elite Suites themselves are for me 5 star, average 5 star but 5 star all the same yet there`s really no amenities to the Elite Suite side  (apart from verakola restaurant, will come to that later) so you find yourself having to use the main Amathus building which in my opinion is an average 3 star. It`s very  much like living in 2 worlds. You`re getting ready for dinner in a lovely suite, modern, clean, spacious and comfortable and the next minute you`re sipping your drink in a shabby, tired, run down, scruffy looking hotel. You`ve paid for the pleasure of luxury and yet sit at a depressing bar drinking cheap drinks as the rest of the customers staying in the main hotel on an all inclusive package. It just doesn`t add up. Elite Suites NEED to have a bar exclusively for the elite customers, somewhere to enjoy a drink that`s a little more luxurious. I truly feel this would benefit them tremendously. They seriously cannot expect their guests to be satisfied having to use the main hotel. I don`t want to go on too much about the main Amathus hotel as that`s not what I`m reviewing but I find I have no choice as I had no choice but to use it for before and after dinner drinks. The main hotel is such a far cry from Elite Suites, it`s very poor, absolutely not 5 star as advertised, it`s a joke and that`s how I`ll close that conversation.
Now to start about the hotel in question....the Elite Suites. One word, one person `Leo`. This man deserves a medal. Any problems and he will sort it. Breakfast, lunch and dinner Leo is there greeting the guests checking everything is ok. He`s running the show really. We originally got shown to our suite by another member of staff, Fillipe I think his name was. We were taken to a pool suite, not the pool suite with a garden we`d booked. I told him this wasn`t the right room and got the reply `you`re lucky we have 1 suite left with a garden`. Emmm no! He was lucky there was 1 left as that is what I`d booked and paid for! No apology. That wasn`t the best start but let I  this go as it soon got sorted out and after a short wait we were taken to the correct room.
The room itself was nice. A bottle of cheap plonk in the room waiting and a fruit bowl, as expected. It was light, airy, modern, clean and comfortable. A good size terrace outside, decent sized pool and of course the garden with more sun loungers at the bottom. Lived up to expectations as to what I`d seen on the website. Couldn`t wait to start relaxing, sunning and using the pool......oh....the pool! Ha. No chance of that! It was freezing! And I mean like ice! Literally took your breath away to dip a toe in. I asked and asked until I was blue in the face if they could switch the heating on to it. Kept getting some excuse about the aircon being on the same system as the pool heater and therefore couldn`t be done. I don`t buy this excuse as the black pool just behind our room was a lot warmer and somebody from the suite upstairs said their pool was warm. Needless to say it never did get turned on therefore we never used it all week. So much for having a private pool, the whole point of why I booked that particular hotel to start with. Leo did offer to upgrade us to an exec suite, which was very thoughtful and kind but I thought moving would be rather pointless, we were more than  happy with the suite we had it was just the pool. Disappointed.
The Verakola restaurant. The staff fab. Tentative, friendly and professional. They really can`t do enough to help you. `Emy` was a little star at recommending a different wine for us every night. And surprisingly some good wines to say they were all Greek. The food was beautiful. Presented well and very tasty. Everything from a pizza to the lobster night was delicious. Couldn`t fault it. Such a pleasurable experience dining here that we only ventured out the hotel for dinner once to the old town.
Quickly about the spa. Lovely, professional but pricey. Think it`s just about one of the most expensive I`ve been in and that`s saying something as I`ve been in plenty all over the world. Good treatments though.
All in all we had a good time. There`s room for minor changes (main hotel, major changes!). Leo definitely helps keep this hotel afloat, without him I don`t know what they`d do. He`s the star of the show. Would I recommend it? Yes, would I go again? Hmmm,.....maybe.

"Excellent appointments and comfort with caring staff"

Rate:  5 Stars

We categorically endorse this hotel from start to finish. The modern room with private infinity pool was beautiful, spacious, and quiet. The floor to ceiling, unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea and distant Turkish coast were magnificent, particularly at sunset. The staff is always nearby but very discreet. The manager, Mr. Leonidas, was remarkable for his attentiveness, keen eye for detail, and ceaseless, unobtrusive inspection of all things associated with the hotel. The desk staff is extraordinarily helpful, with special recognition to Ms. Daria, who went beyond the call of duty to arrange for emergency dental treatment and to follow-up to ensure all went well. In the event of a medical problem, the hotel is very close to the main hospital and a well-appointed outpatient clinic with multilingual staff. The hotel restaurant is good, although the food is a non-traditional approach to Greek cuisine, with other European dishes available. Live music is available most nights, which may cause some to shy away. The bar at the Elite Suites closes circa 1800, so one needs either to shift to one`s own balcony or move to the adjacent high-rise Amathus Hotel`s rooftop. The hotel is only about 15 minutes drive from the airport, making check-in easy for late afternoon arriving flights and morning departures. The hotel is also close to Rhodes town, granting access to any number of dining and shopping opportunities. Recommended.

Room tip: Rooms on the upper two levels (there are three) are less likely to see foot traffic passing by the p...

"Ticks all the boxes"

Rate:  5 Stars

Just returned from a wonderful week at the Elite Suites, everything we had hoped for and more, right from the really easy short connection, champagne welcome, super king beds and quiet air-conditioning . We were celebrating our 30 anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff were excellent, as were the rooms, food and facilities . A free manicure and pedicure at the well equipped spa were also included. The evening meal was A la carte, varied menu beautifully cooked and served. There was live music each evening and a cabaret one evening which really added to the holiday atmosphere. We booked a suite without private pool on the top floor with lovely sunset views over the sea. There are many options for sun bathing and swimming. There a black pool near the spa which has very sheltered grassed area with sunbeds. The main pool is very large with ample sunbeds and swim up pool bar, this is overlooked by a smaller adults only pool which is still in full sun at 7pm, although the pool bar shuts at 6. There is also a private grassed area on the beach for the exclusive use of the suites guests which is lovely in the hottest part of the day with the welcome sea breeze, bar service and lunch menu available. The only down side is the main road runs between the hotel and the beach, (which are connected by a tunnel) the road is noisy so bring you IPod . Buses run from outside the hotel to Rhodes town €2 each way, but hard to get a seat. Worth a visit to see the old town, harbour and some shopping. From Rhodes Town many boat trips available to other parts of the Island and Turkey. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon.

Room tip: Some guests in suites at the front of the property close to the road found it noisy.

"ELITE SUITES - THE PERFECT PLACE FOR A PERFECT HOLIDAY"

Rate:  5 Stars

This holiday was booked not only to celebrate our anniversary but also to give my hubby some much needed rest. We were met on our arrival by Elena the Sales and Marketing Manager who promised that we would have a stress free holiday and she was true to her word.

We were in suite number 155 which was excellent with a great sea view and also a private pool - we would get up early each morning and swim before breakfast - so relaxing.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful but we have to give a special mention to Moschoula who greeted us at breakfast with a smile that made an excellent start to the day. Whenever we saw her during our stay, she made a point of coming to us and saying hello - she is a great asset to the hotel.

We had a wonderful two week holiday and this is the first time we have been abroad and not wanted to go home!!!! We would like to say a very BIG thank you to everyone who made our holiday so enjoyable - we would highly recommend Elite Suites to all our friends. We hope we can return again in the very near future.

PS After an excellent dinner each evening at Elite Suites, we would wander down to the local bar called "Keep it Simple" - turn left at the bottom of the hotel drive and it is a short walk to the bar - friendly staff who made us feel very at home - Deborah was always there to greet and welcome us.

Room tip: We had a high room which gave us excellent views and was also very quiet (if you wanted it to be!!)

"Heaven on Earth"

Rate:  5 Stars

We went to Rhodes of all places in the world because of a coincidence and fell in love with it. First time but certainly not last. A great part of our pleasure was the place where we ended up staying... The Elite Suites by Amathus Beach. The room made us feel like we the most spoiled people in the world. Starting our day on the balcony in front of the beautiful beach of Ixia. Ending the day on the balcony during sun set with a cup of tea. My husband not having to wait for me and my daughter to finish with the bath tub, having his own rain shower just for himself. The little soaps and lotions in the washroom by Bvalgari. The comfortable bed with the white soft linens. The amazing breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice, Champagne, an egg by your choice, a variety of fruits, cheeses, salmon and bakery and much more... The complimentary manicure and pedicure at the beautiful Spa. The perfect service given to us by the hotels staff. The warm greetings and the willingness to accommodate to each and every request we had. All of those and many more gave us a magical experience that neither of us have never had before. My 3 years old enjoyed mostly the cherry`s at the lounge where we could go in and have coffee and refreshments every time during the day.
We were 2 adults and a child who just didn`t want to go back home.

Room tip: Go either in the beginning or end of the season when not crowded. Breathe deeply and enjoy nature...

The best five stars hotel in Greece!!!!!!!!!
My slogan for this hotel should be "This is your home away from home"
The hotel was very beautiful, surrounded by a lot of trees, flowers, green and a magnificent fall leading to a little lake just across the hotel main entrance.
Our room in the Elite Suites, where we stayed for the 2 nights was marvelous and our private swimming pool was beyond our imagination.
Finally, the staff was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable.

"Superb Elite Suites"

Rate:  5 Stars

We stayed at the superb Elite Suites at the Amathus Beach Hotel, Rhodes last week and the stay was fantastic. The room was light, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The food excellent and the fish night was terrific. Every member of the staff was friendly and wanting to help in any way. This is a top destination and always invest in a little bit more and upgrade to the Elite Suites for a truly stunning holiday. Overall the place was superb but the staff made it outstanding.

"Perfect honeymoon celebrating with elite suites"

Rate:  5 Stars

We have just returned back from our honeymoon after spending a week at the elite suites. First off it was extremely easy. Once arriving at the airport in Rhodes we were put straight into a lovely full leather interior Mercedes which took us straight to the hotel. We were given full attention from all the staff and we felt we were the only people staying. We were offered champagne and ice cold water. In the room we were shown where everything was. We were given full tour of the complex and left with our treats which came daily. Room service menu was limited but was fast and quality food. Reception staff were nothing short of fantastic. They couldn`t do enough for us. The room was amazing. Perfect air conditioning. Regularily serviced. Pool/jacuzzi was always a welcome relief from the hot sun.

We didn`t use the private beach as the room and pool were too alluring. The reception staff thankfully put us in a room in the main hotel whilst waiting for our flight which was very nice.

The main restaurant at night was formal but relaxed and food was tasty but did feel that some sides would have been nice as I was still hungry after the main. The lunch buffet was a bit limited. Breakfast had good options and was fresh and hot.

Overall amazing holiday. Would definately go again.

"The Elite suites"

Rate:  4 Stars

Although it`s been 4 weeks since we came home, we want to write a feedback about our stay in the Amathus hotel in Rhodos.
After 2 days we changed our room in the main building to the Elite suites in the other new building (room 145). From that moment our stay in the Amathus was perfect. The room with seaview and private pool was fantastic. We had breakfast in a separate breakfast room, dining in the Varkarola restaurant, but most of all we loved the friendly personnel and the managers from the Elite suites. We were treated like VIPS !!

"Excellent stay at Elite Suites"

Rate:  5 Stars

First visit to Greece as usually travel further afield to find nice hotels, but wouldn`t hesitate to return to Elite Suites Rhodes again. Stayed in room with private pool + garden, very spacious, well kept and not overlooked at all, sometimes noticed the traffic noise from nearby road, but wouldn`t say it spoilt the relaxing atmosphere.
This is the perfect hotel if you are simply looking to relax and be spoilt, saying that it was nice that Rhodes town was 10 min taxi ride away (8 Euro), the old town was beautiful and the new town more cosmopolitan.
On top of the fantastic room, we found the staff at the hotel very helpful/friendly, particularly the restaurant staff who work extremely hard and provided an excellent service throughout our stay making us feel looked after. We are a young couple and sometimes can feel like we receive less of a service than other guests, at Elite this was not the case. The a la carte food was very good and I found plenty to choose from, also enjoyed the special nights such as lobster night.
Perfect weather and lovely rooms and staff and I look forward to returning again soon.

Had a great 2 week stay at the suites with pool. Agree with all the positive feed back. One small negative is that there`s the same problem with people putting towels on the sunbed`s when the cock crows and using them after lunch. It would be nice if the adult pool was exclusive for just the suites with maybe a bar built where the manager holds the welcome party. Overall a great holiday.

Room tip: We had rooms 143 and 144. Room 144 had slightly better view.

"Our Holiday at Elite Suites at Amathus Beach (Gavin, Debbie & Megan)"

Rate:  5 Stars

I am writing this review on the last day of our 10 days holiday at the Elite Suites at Amathus Beach (room 163) & cannot stress enough how much we have enjoyed our stay. The suite was very comfortable with great views or Turkey and a pleasant retreat from the weather which was warm and sunny throughout.

The location at Ixia Bay is great & Rhodes is a lovely city, especially the old town. A `road train` trip around the city is a must - the driver is a bit of a local celebrity and very knowledgeable taking you around the Acropolis and other sites of historical and contemporary interest. There are many boat trips from Rhodes (we went to Faliraki and Simi) but just ensure that any trip you book leaves FROM the harbour itself & not via a coach journey. Also be wary of rogue taxi drivers and try to keep with the Greek people in their air-conditioned Mercedes`. You may pay a little more but it is worth it.

The beach at Ixia, although stony, is still very nice with private loungers for guests. The pools, spa & facilities throughout the complex are all very good but by far the most memorable part of the entire trip has been the friendly & welcoming nature of the staff in all areas of the Elite Suites but especially at the Vakarola Restaurant.

Stefanos, Leonidas and Emy were so friendly and hospitable during our time and we enjoyed meeting them and hearing their stories. Ilias, the resident pianist / singer, and his daughter, Natasha were also friendly and very talented. Our daughter, Megan, throughly enjoyed dancing on the floor at the end of the evening with other children & even had a song dedicated to her one evening. We left having taken lots of photographs and having made many new friends. I would thoroughly recommend the Elite Suites at Amathus Beach, Rhodes to everyone and would not hesitate to return.

Very minor points (of improvement not criticism) would be smoking provision in the restaurant as we sometimes found ourselves sandwiched between two tables of heavy smokers but, being an open air restaurant, this wasn`t too bad. Wifi was sometimes a little slow in the rooms but this is probably down to the bandwidth on Greece.

Overall, these are very minor points to improve what is a wonderful place with excellent facilities and some of the most genuinely friendly people you could hope to meet. Thank you.

Room tip: All the suites are all very good from what I could see and the road noise that I was a bit concerned...
