"Reasonably priced and functional so why pay more?"

Rate:  4 Stars

Very reasonably priced and functional this hotel is away from both the main tourist drags of Sultanahmet and the expensive hotels overlooking the Bosphorus, but the area is buzzy and full of locals giving it an authentic and pleasant feel and it`s a simple tram ride down to the sites.

The breakfast is only ok but the staff were always helpful and the rooms kept impeccably clean. I can`t see why you`ld want to pay more or be staying above a busy bar in Sultanahmet

"Good hotel but you have to pay for the pool after 4pm"

Rate:  3 Stars

This is a nice clean hotel located at the end of the metro line from the airport and a short walk to the tram that takes you to all the touristy spots (or is about a 25 minute walk).

The staff were nice and helpful and the beds comfortable. However we were very disappointed you have to pay for the pool if you go after 4pm ($10 per person) as we planned to go for a quick swim at the end of each day before heading out for dinner.

The breakfast is a large buffet with a lot of choices. As we don`t eat the normal Turkish breakfast we had cold crepes with honey, watermelon, cornflakes and dried apricots but there is lots more to choose from.

Note also there is a mosque not far so it can get noisy quite early in the morning however it didn`t wake us.

Room tip: The pool is $10 after 4pm

Stayed here 3 nights. It`s so close to everything in Istanbul. Great friendly staff amazing brekkie. Would definitely return. But be warned the beds are a bit tough. But it is very close to the bazzar, the mosques and shopping precincts.

"Great location, great service, reasonable price"

Rate:  5 Stars

My family and I have stayed at a few hotels near the tourist area of Istanbul, but the Zagreb has been the best. It isn`t the closest to the tourist attractions, but considering it is located very close to the tram it makes no difference. The service was great. The pool was refreshing (little small though). Breakfast was great. They kept our bags after checkout for no charge until we left the city later that evening. I would definitely stay in the Zegreb again.
