"Best location, great value for money"

Rate:  5 Stars

Stayed here 3 nights at the pension part and loved it. The location is very central and the room was spotless clean. Breakfast was not the best, but luckily they recommended the restaurant Meathouse just around the corner and we ended up eating dinner there all three nights. The hotel fixed us up with shuttle service to the airport, which was both reliable and cheap. Next time we will definitely also stay at this place if we get same price of ¢50. Highly recommend!

"Budget hotel in great location"

Rate:  4 Stars

Side Hotel has two types of room- pension which is basic with fan, and hotel where rooms have air con. I recently spent 3 nights in a pension room, and upgraded to a hotel room with air con on my next visit. Both rooms were spotless, as is the whole hotel. Linen is changed daily and breakfast, which is adequate, is served on the roof terrace where there is a great view of the Sultanahmet Camii. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent-in a quite street in the old town and only a few minutes walk from Sultanahmet Park. There are Istanbul.

"nothing `side` (seedy) here"

Rate:  5 Stars

excellent location, 5 mins from Aghia Sophia & The Blue Mosque. less than 10 minute walk to Top Kapi Palace. Many tavernas within walking distance. Handy for all of these attractions but a very quiet, peaceful location.

Friendly staff, spotlessly clean rooms & linens.

Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Bosphorous is a lovely way to start the day & prepare the day`s itinery.

"Great location"

Rate:  3 Stars

Very simple hotel, awesome location. Clean. Comfortable enough beds. Was there in August, and our room was air conditioned. Were on 2nd floor, used stairs - not sure if there`s an elevator, but not really needed. Had breakfast on roof terrace - typical Turkish breakfast with a view. Morning staff were great. We were able to leave bags at hotel while we toured a bit on the day we checked out. I asked them to arrange for a pickup at the airport for 30 Euros. Ridiculously expensive.

Room tip: Request room with a/c.

"Awesome place for the value"

Rate:  5 Stars

I had a 16 hour layover in Istanbul so I decided to take the most basic room at Side hotel and pension. It was a small pension with basic furniture. The room itself had a double bed (which was upon my request at no extra charge), basic cable TV, small desk with its chair, new fan, nice-looking oriental carpet, closet w/hangers. Extra pillow and blankets are also found in the closet. One power out-plug which is basically enough and a telephone with a free WiFi access.
The bath was also clean, hot water around the clock. Liquid and soup bars are provided, as well as the fresh towels.
Front desk staff are available for your service, free tea is found at the front desk.
Basic breakfast is served starting 8:30am at the terrace that has a view to the mosque which includes bread, cheese, butter, jam, tomato and cucumber slices and a boiled egg. Omelette and Turkish coffee are available upon request and they cost 5TL and 3TL.
Transportation is available from the hotel door, they can call a taxi for you which costs about $25 and you can use their shuttle which runs on a schedule with a cost of 12TL and you also can use cheap public transportation as well.
Location is just awesome, in the middle of everything. Two mosques, shops and bazaars are all around you. Don`t miss the Ottoman Kebab and the Ayran drink! Enjoy!
