    "Terrace with a View"

    Rate:  4 Stars

We stayed here for two nights on our way back through Istanbul.
The location can`t be beat! The Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque are only a few steps away.
We had a deluxe room - what it lacked in size, it made up in charm. Don`t expect a high end boutique hotel - it has a funky vibe and lots of character (maybe the bathrooms need a little updating the rain head shower is a godsend on a hot August day!).
The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and speak English. Coffee and tea are provided free of charge when you need resuscitation.
Breakfast is self serve off the lobby - it is a smallish room with a buffet of cheeses, bread, fruit and hard boiled eggs. It was more than adequate for us and tea and coffee are brought to the tables.
We`ve saved the best for last: don`t miss the roof top terrace bar -the view to the Blue Mosque is spectacular day and night.
If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a Sultanahmet "pied a terre" with lots of character and an amazing location, we highly recommend this hotel.

Room tip: Splurge on the deluxe room for a bit more space if you can.

    "quality and cool!"

    Rate:  5 Stars

We recently stayed at this charming little hotel for 3 nights. The staff were incredibly helpful and the hotel had just the right amount of support without being over serviced. they have their own maps and the reception can help you with any plans and bookings. We had a deluxe room which had a lot of character and considering you spend most of your time out and about you don`t much more than this. The terrace view is superb and the staff and the great location make it a really accessible and great time in istanbul.,

    "Just terrific"

    Rate:  5 Stars

We stayed for 5 nights in a standard room 201 facing the front of hotel. We were greeted by delightful staff who gave us a local map and then went through the map key, restaurants, sights etc. while we enjoyed a drink. Very thoughtful and informative. Our room was small though well appointed the bathroom with L`occitane products. Turkish delights on our bed at night. Breakfast was included and most enjoyable. The kitchen is open in the afternoon for a slice of cake freshly made and coffee. The roof terrace with the breathtaking views was the perfect spot for a pre dinner drink. I would definitely return to this hotel.

    "Oh, the view"

    Rate:  4 Stars

I stayed at Hotel Ibrahim Pasha for four evenings while in Istanbul with a good friend. Airport transfer went seamlessly. We were greeted by a staff member who spoke excellent English and introduced us to the amenities in the hotel and sights in the surrounding area. Then we went to the roof terrace and saw THE VIEW. Wow. Amazing. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Bosphorus, glass of white wine...life doesn`t get much better.

Rooms were very clean, and extremely well decorated though a bit small. Location is excellent -- close to all the attractions in Sultahanmet, still within walking distance of Istakil Caddessi and the other main haunts on the Beyoglu side, a block from the train, and cabs in Istanbul are so inexpensive it doesn`t really matter.

The breakfast -- included in the price -- was also good. And the lobby is just cool. It feels like an utterly swanky, hip boutique hotel, which it is.

The reason why the hotel doesn`t get five stars is the spotty service. Some of the men manning the front desk downstairs were incredibly helpful, while when speaking to others you felt like banging your head against the wall (not due to the language barrier). Trying to get help with ferries and directions to the Asian side of the city was a nightmare. Also, my friend needed a wake up call at 3;50am to catch her flight, which they did. But then, at 4:50am, they called back, told me it was 3:50am and asked whether I still needed a cab to the airport. We got into a discussion as to whether it was 4:50am (it was, they conceded after a couple back and forths). This was annoying.

However, for the money (EUR 125/night or so) in Istanbul would highly recommend -- also to those who do not have disabilities. Would not recommend for families with small children -- this is definitely a couples/older families sort of place. Stairs would get trying and elevator too small to squeeze in more than two people at a time.
