"Why stay elsewhere!"

Rate:  5 Stars

We stayed 4 nights. Booked directly via website, got a package which included airport transfers (very efficient). From the moment we got there until we left, the service was surperb. The staff were always helpful (at recpetion spoke excellent English) and smartly dressed at all times. Had a large bedroom on the top floor which was spotless - as were all the public areas - well furnished and comfortable. Roof terrace was a fab spot to have a few `sundowners` in comfortable chairs/sofas and enjoy the view! Good selection at breakfast with excellent fresh fruit. Location fab, walking distance to all major sites and quiet inside the hotel.......We would definiately stay here again! In short, The Amira is miles better than any of the large hotel chains as well excellent value. So, why stay elsewhere!

Room tip: Rooms 701 & 801 occupy one floor each and feel more private, however half the journey is by lift...

"Service was terrific and location excellent as well."

Rate:  5 Stars

We stayed at Hotel Amira at the end of August for our first visit to Istanbul. Arriving in Istanbul, jet lagged and a bit over whelmed by all the new sights and sounds - Arturo (Arthur) oriented us over a complimentary drink on their rooftop patio. This small boutique hotel offers exceptional personal service and all the staff are helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and modern in decor. We asked for a room on a higher floor so that we wouldnt be bothered by the noise in the streets - which we got. But if you have any mobility issues make sure you request a room with direct access to their elevators, as not all rooms have this. Their breakfast buffet is excellent, and their complimentary afternoon `tea` is a great way to rest after walking around the sites. You can walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia within 10 minutes, but some of it is uphill. Overall this was one of the most pleasant hotel stays we`ve ever had and if ever we find ourselves in Istanbul again (hopefully) this would be our first choice. It would be advisable to book far in advance as this small hotel has less than 40 rooms and fills up quickly.

Room tip: If you have difficulty managing stairs be sure to ask for a room with access to the elevators. Some...

"Lovely hotel with perfect location!!!"

Rate:  5 Stars

When we arrived to ist airport, we opted to take the metro and tram to get to the hotel- it was very easy and only cost us 12 tl for both my husband and I. We arrived late at night and everyone we met was very helpful in directing us to the hotel. The hotel was located just steps away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel was lovely, it was clean, had a wonderful & helpful staff and beautiful rooftop terrace. The first night we arrived we were invited for complimentary drinks on the rooftop. It was chilly and the bar attendant brought over a shaw for me. The breakfast was okay- not our favorite but we were filled- lots of olives, cucumbers, tomatoes-our stomachs can`t handle that so early in the am. Every afternoon they had tea, Turkish delights and cookies- delicious!!!! Two of the days we stayed, we had day trips planned in which we had to wake up at 3:30am- they provided a wake up call and brought us breakfast, juice and tea to our room. The one and only compliant I have is that the shower stall was moldy-mold grosses me out, but besides that the room was extremely clean! We stay in room 305.
We would def recommend this hotel based on location, great staff, clean rooms and excellent service!

"He Doesn`t Look Good"

Rate:  5 Stars

I won`t add to the accolades of the Hotel Amira because that would be redundant. It`s a fine hotel with a great staff.
They got to help me out, in an unexpected way.... I accepted a "surprise dessert" from a local and the resulting extreme stomach distress was a big problem. When my fiance called the hotel staff at 3am, they found me curled on the bathroom floor and I heard them say, "He doesn`t look good, at all."

So, they hustled me into a taxi for an unforgetably fast ride to the German Hospital, where the care was first rate. I recovered later that day, went back to Amira, and back home to the USA the next day.

The staff (thanks Arthur) even helped me get a copy of the hospital bill to file with my health insurance.

Thumbs up.

"A GEM OF A FINED"

Rate:  5 Stars

From the time we drove up to the hotel and the staff met us to help with the luggage we knew that we had found a jewel. And that we did !! We arrived from the ship we were cruising on early in the morning knowing that the check-in time was 1300 but thought we might be able to store our luggage and then go out to tour the city. Well, we were totally surprised when the desk person said "I can offer you a courtesy breakfast. We accepted and what a breakfast. The room was wonderful, clean and ready for us at 1300 when we returned. THEN! we found the Roof Top Terrace and what a find! We asked that our courtesy wine be served at the terrace. We could not believe the view. Then we asked to have a light dinner served again on the terrace and the meal was very good. We were enjoying ourselves so much that we retrieved a bottle of wine we had brought with us and the server went and got us a wine cooler - what service. We highly recommend this hotel. We are hoping to stay here again next year for serveral days.
