"Exceptional hospitality, incredible staff, THE place to stay in istambul"Rate:  5 Stars
Just decided to move away from Hilton in Taxim (separate review), go quickly to booking.com and got a very good price, at the time of the booking it was mentioned that it was the last room available., however i received my confirmation printed took a taxi and took direction of The President.
That was at 10h15 in the morning, if you go to this part of the city (old town) make it before 10h00 am, as most of the streets are closed for cars starting 10h00 am till 6h00 pm !!
For this reason we took 1h15 minutes to reach the hotel in part becasue roads eare closed to trafiic, and also due to chaotic traffic in istambul.
Finally we reached the Hotel, as soon as the taxi stopped we were greeted and helped by a very kind bell men, walked to reception and presented my voucher, at that time i have been informed that hotel was fully booked ( i guess that the last room was booked twice - due to the time taken by booking.com to process the information). But it was not presented to me as a problem, the lady and the men at reception just told me that they will upgrade without charge to the best suite of the Hotel due to this litlle incident.
Check-in was quick and again the staff was incredibly nice and helpfull. When myself, my wife and my son netered the room we had a real SURPRISE when the bell boy open the curtains we discovered and incredible view of the Marmara sea (photos) the we could admire form our huge terrace i say TERRACE not balcony with veru confortable coaches to sit and relax.
Besides thas a veru cozy bedroom with a separated living-room.
After this very positive shock we were ready to explore the old city of Istambul, we go down and we faced a very nice and well informed lady (a little desk just when you go out of the eleveator) that give us very valuable advices about what to do and what to see, in one day.
After less than 10 minutes walk we reached the Blue Mosque and the Hagya Sophiam my 9 y.o son was just delighted about those monuments, then we had lunch (nice restaurants in all the surroundings), then as it was hit we took some rest in our room, when we reached the room, we was again delighted as we discovered a very nice fruit basket (attention of the GM). We where veven to tired to try the roof-top swimming pool :-)
On the end of afternoon we walked 3 minutes and arrived directly at Grand-bazaar.
till this moment we were so happy with the hotel, that we decided to have the BBQ diner on the roof-top..and again, i had to say that i was a winner choice, food was excelent, roof-top at the end of afternoon (19h30) is definitely a good choice, and again the staff was really outstanding.
We ordered a bottle of excellent white Turkish wine, we didn`t finish it, so the our waiter putt it in a frappe and delivered it to our room, we we finish it confortably seated in the terrace enjoying the views.
if i have something to complain about, and is not really a complain, the fault is from the Hotel :-) who really out my expectation very high...is the bkfst..quality and choice are really poor, and the place is not really enjoyable (this is the only point where HILTON wins).
To finish this review, i just deeply regret to not have taken the names of all the people i dealed with (and unfortunatelly i lost the card of the GM), to be able to name them all, because on this particular topic (and i stayed in some of the best palaces in the world) STAFF OF THE PRESIDENT CAN EVEN TEACH WHAT IS HOSPITALITY TO A LOT OF 5*.
AGAIN A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL !!
YOU made our stay unforgettable and in our next stay in ISTAMBUL for sure we know where to stay . Than you again ! And hope to see you soon

"Excellent stay - great location"Rate:  5 Stars
On our first visit to Istanbul we choose the President - mainly for its location and also good reviews. We were not disappointed. The breakfast area was on the top floor and gave nice views of the bay, the sun terrace allowed relaxation after a day`s sightseeing and the spa area was more than adaequate - I enjoy sauna/steambath. Better than the traditional Turkish bath which is quite different as it focuses mostly on the massage. Pool small but allows to cool off.
Rooms not all that big but more than sufficient. Reception area nice, friendly staff. While the hotel is located very conveniently the slight problem is access by road. At certain times the road leading to the hotel can be very congested. But 150 metres away is the main road. There you find a tram stop and the entrance to the bazar. The tram takes you all the way through the centre of the old town past the Bosporus to the other side of town. Alternatively you travel a few stops, then walk 150 metres to the start of the metro line (supermodern/clean) which takes you all the way to the airport (costs very little). You can easily walk to the main attractions (mosques, palace, cistern etc)
Room tip: Most rooms face the internal courtyard and should be quiet

"Excellent!"Rate:  5 Stars
Our family chose this hotel because of its location but were happily surprised with an even better facility than anticipated. The terrace restaurant was wonderful with excellent views. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. We fell in love with Istanbul and when we return for another visit we will definitely stay at tis hotel!

"Excellent Hotel in a Great Location"Rate:  5 Stars
We were so glad we upgraded to this hotel. The hotel and rooms were quite modern, clean and well air conditioned, and the staff all very pleasant but unobtrusive. The greatest things however were the rooftop restaurant and sun deck, and the great value shop. After a day sightseeing in the heat, a dip in the pool and a few minutes or more on the sun deck with a view over the city and the sea, was absolutely fantastic. The rooftop restaurant has the same great views and wonderful atmosphere, and the food is excellent. I do not normally use hotel restaurants and shops as they are usually poor value and lack atmosphere. That is not the case here. The shop is amazing value without the hassle of the market traders. The choice at breakfast is enormous. The location is also ideal, close to the historic sites (don`t the miss the Cistern) and the top quality tram. Highly recommended.
Room tip: We had 2 rooms on different sides of the building. Both had angled sea views and were fine with eff...
