"Άριστο!!!"

Rate:  5 Stars

"Good place to stay, excellent food!"

Rate:  5 Stars

We stayed at this hotel for one night. The room was clean and decorated in good taste. It was easy to find, and the service was also very good. The owner was an excellent fellow. But the most interesting part was the food...This year, their restaurant was awarded for its traditional, original and non-pretentious cuisine. Everything was delicious and made of good ingedients. Imagine our surprise when the bill came: only 20 euros for two persons! The hotel is situated in a village that is not very near the city of Florina (Ksyno Nero) and not very interesting either, but it is near a very famous and very picturesque village up the mountain, called Nymphaio. In case you are near, don`t miss it. It is full of traditional stone houses, situated near a forest where a natural park full of bears and other wildlife is run by an NGO, there are guided tours for visitors throughout the year.

"Excellent traditional inn with great restaurant"

Rate:  5 Stars

My husband and I stayed at the Kontosoros Inn in Xyno Nero about 15 miles southwest of Florina for one night in July 2008 on our way to Macedonia and Croatia. We were very happily suprised and thought the service and accomodations were terrific. The inn was renovated recently so the decor is an attractive and tasteful blend of tradtional and contemporary. Our spacious room was clean with a fireplace and a small kichen unit. It is a family owned inn and the husband is very knowledgable about the great wines of northern Greece. The food was delicious, the only "nouveau" cuisine we encountered in Greece, but unpretentious, fresh and delicious.

We had a delightful pre-dinner stroll through the tiny village of Xyno Nero which had a lively square filled with cafes and people all ages. We would highly recommend this inn, and even if you don`t have time to stay the night, don`t miss the restaurant.

"True Macedonian Hospitality!"

Rate:  5 Stars

I stayed at the Kondosoros with some friends. I actually am Greek American and wanted to visit the region of Florina because I have family there and it was the birthplace of my grandparents. The Bed and Breakfast is situated in a village known as Xino Nero which is a place that is known for its unique water carbonated beverages that actually give health benefits to the gastric system (I am serious, its good, try one!) The family who works and owns the place is extremely kind and helpful. The food at the Tavern downstairs is excellent and the breakfast served every morning is homemade as well. They must have some of the best bread I have ever tried in that village. The rooms are clean and very affordable. I highly recommend Kontosoros to anyone visiting the Florina region and needs a place to stay. make sure you rent a car if you are traveling to the area because you will want to see the historic village of Nimfeo, Florina City, the local wineries in the area and the Prespa Lakes.
