"Isola bellissima,hotel molto buono"

Rate:  4 Stars

"good option on this quiet island"

Rate:  4 Stars

Sikinos is a wonderful quiet island offering a little of the old Greece a perfect place to escape from the mass tourism to be found on Mykonos, Santorini and IOS. There are a limited number of places to stay and from what we could see Porto Sikinos was the only hotel on the island, all other accommodation looked to be guest houses and rooms for rent.
Sikinos only gets busy in July and August, You may need to book ahead then, but all other times you can safely just turn up at the port and grab your accommodation.
Porto Sikinos is a small family run place only 100m from the port so you can walk there with bags, there are large blue signs directing you there.
The rooms head uphill which means some climbing but not too much. Most rooms have views over the bay and all seem to have seating areas outside the room.
Rooms have A/C, TV, fridge and good bathrooms.
breakfast was good and served on a veranda near reception
The family were very helpful and friendly
There is a small bar near reception.

And the final plus point, finally a hotel with free wifi that works everywhere around the hotel!

There are a limited number of restaurants on Sikinos so long stays will mean repeat visits, three food options in the port and two in Chora, none are amazing. Lucas offers a nice beach setting and good food with less than sparking service (young handsome Greek guys may fair better). The Rocks cafe next to the port is worth a visit for the view and very chilled ambiance and owner.
The small cafe bar in Chora is friendly and offers snacks and drinks, The taverna, down a rather bland side street offers reasonable Greek cuisine and pleasant service. The sunset restaurant with views to Folegandros and Milos, just up to the left from the bus stop in Chora, only opens in high season.

buses run from the port to Chora and back throughout the day, €1.60 and evening but the service is limited in the afternoons and finishes by 9:30pm. The bus comes to the port for all ferry arrivals if you want to stay in Chora and not want to commit to a guest house owner at the port, it can be a little pressurised!
There are no taxis.

Room tip: Book ahead and ask for best view

"Nice hotel on a very quiet island"

Rate:  4 Stars

Nicely laid out hotel, with rooms built off steps down an incline. Friendly & laid back staff.

Well furnished room, good bed & bathroom. Clean & well maintained. Quiet location.

The island has a few OK beaches, the best being via a 20mins caique from the harbour. Looks like they`re currently building a new road to this beach.

The nearest good beach to walk to from the harbour is about 1hr, along a newly carved out dirt road - destroying the old path/road.

Good walks, but you need good walking shoes. Goat paths are not footpaths.

Nice kastro, worth visiting for a meal / drinks.

"Quiet and relaxing"

Just returned from 7 nights at Porto Sikinos Hotel. Really lovely stay, very quiet and relaxing. Rooms very clean. Breakfast good except it was the same everyday. Situated just off the quay and beach, and a few minutes to taverna.

"DES GÉRANTS DÉPLAISANTS"

Rate:  3 Stars

"Lovely and peaceful hotel near the harbour and beach on small island"

Rate:  5 Stars

We were a group of 14 people and we stayed 2 nights in May 2007 at this lovely hotel. We were given a large, lovely room - all in delicate shades of white and pink, with TV, telephone, a huge bathroom and a nice little private terrace shaded from the sun and with a direct view to the sea. All the hotel is built as a cluster of small, white, tiny house-like studios. Most have private terraces but the second floor is best if you want a view and more privacy.
It was the low season so we had the hotel all to ourselves and the staff was really nice. There was a lovely breakfast. I have no idea however if things are so peaceful in high summer. Sikinos is a tiny island a little bit off the way, but only 2h30 by boat from the best known islands such as Santorini or Ios. It`s a great place to stay in May anyway if - like us - you enjoy hiking on foot: There`s several nice hiking paths around the island and we found a good map at the local store. There`s a small beach (not extraordinary but it was clean and OK) just across the road from the hotel. The next village is about 3 miles off high in the hills and you have to get the only bus (which went down to fetch us on demand, like a taxi) to get there. There is nothing close to the hotel except a cafe and a small grocery store, but there are local restaurants in the village, a post-office and an ATM, and also a small medical center and B&B rooms.
The hotel was being extended when we stayed.
