"the best experience ever!"

Rate:  5 Stars

We just got back from our Greece vacation and I want to share my feelings towards Delfini rooms, Its owner Rena and her help Sima. The location cannot be better, the room is very comfortable, the volcano view from the balcony is uncomparable.
The hospitality level made us feel like Rena and Sima are our loving family members.
Thank you very much!

"A Deal at Delfini"

Rate:  5 Stars

We just got back from a two week trip to the Greek Islands and the Delfini was the icing on the cake. Rena was wonderful and even upgraded us from a room to an apartment. When we walked in and I saw the caldera view I started crying it was so beautiful. Efharisto, efharisto, Rena.

We were there the beginning of May so things were just opening up. The Delfini is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The bed, linens and pillows are comfy. The kitchen was completely stocked. A mini-market is close by. The bakery there had these mini pastries that I couldn`t stop eating....ok though because you walk it off.

Do the volcano/hot springs boat trip, but be prepared to be a strong swimmer to go in the hot springs. Also, forget about fashion and wear the best, most comfortable walking shoes you have with a good tread. You will do ALOT of walking....the main activity besides eating and shopping.

The only glitch was seeing the starving dogs and cats. It was early season and the strays had not been fattened up by the tourists yet. Homeless animals are not neutered/spayed...thus the abundance.

See my photos of room.

"Stay in Ia, not Thira (Fira)!"

Rate:  5 Stars

We are so glad we stayed in Ia rather than Thira/Fira and couldn`t be happier with the location, view, and small but very comfortable room with our own terrace overlooking the impressive and one-of-a-kind view that you can get only in Ia. My husband was very seasick from the ferry ride from Crete (unusually rough that day) when we arrived at Delfini Rooms. Our host, Rena, made us feel as though we`d come home. We actually stayed next door to Delfini Rooms at a place that starts with an "F" because our room wasn`t available. The view was the same at both places - WOW. In all our travels, that is the most impressive hotel site we`ve ever experienced.

Be prepared for an expensive cab ride from the ferry landing to Delfini. We were charged 20 euro each way. Fortunately the room was a bargain at 55 euro.

"Wonderful Hospitality, Best Bargain in Oia!"

Rate:  5 Stars

Rena Hilari was the most friendly and accomodating person we met in all of Greece, and her VERY affordable caldera-view rooms are the best bargain on the island! You simply can`t go wrong with her Delfini rooms and apartments ... She greeted us on our arrival and saw to it personally that we had a taxi ready and waiting to ferry us to the airport upon our departure date. A+++
