"Ok for a cheap get away..."

Rate:  3 Stars

Me and my fiance booked this last min..and after reading the reviews we were abit worried. However it wasnt as bad as we thought it would be. Location is fantastic and the pool and surrounding areas are lovely. However the rooms are very basic. The bathroom was very small and the drains/sewage smell was very off putting.
We were lucky to see the maids most days, and our sheets/towels were changed twice in the week. We were eaten alive with mosquito`s and ants...no amount of repellent could stop this....i think it was due to so much greenery surrounding us.
The pool bar was very reasonable and the food & prices were very good. Yannis & anita were very pleasant and they even put on a bbq for 5 euros.
The red lion pub which is a ten min walk away was fantstic...very like TGI`s. The strange thing about malia was that people didnt go into the pubs/clubs until 2am....but overall a good holiday. You get what you pay for.....

"Great location but disgusting hotel!!"

Rate:  2 Stars

I stayed here probably about 2 summers ago, like i said in the title the locatios is great for all the clubs and bars and quite near the beach.
The issue i had was the metal bars on the windows that mad eyou feel like it was a prison, the disgusting rooms without air con. It was very overpriced and it is not suitable for anyone over 25.
I would never return to this place or Malia, both are disgusting places.

just got back from a weeks stay here. two young girl we read the reviews just before we went and were so scared about what we would find but were pleasently surprised by what we founjd! the garden and pool everywhere was lovely and a mint place to be in the day! the food was the best i had in malia and was quite cheap! the owner wasnt the happiest but would always do what he can to help.the rooms were basic but clean and we had our sheets and ntowels changed every other day. we had nothing stolen or go missing from our room or safe. its not the best hotel ever but all we needed was a bed for a few hours sleep. and wasliterally a two m inute walk to the beach and strip. best week ever and would definately stay here again!

Went to Malia with a group of Friends all girls , we arrived at around 12 pm and was left sitting outside around the poolside for at least 1hr before we could get into a room!! when we eventully got into our room we opened the door only for the whole room to be flooded with water puddles splashing as you went in!!! went and tols owner yanis who was very very very rude and he gave us a bucket and a mop and sed there you go !!!! we was absolutley disgusted and he said there was no other rooms to go into and this would dry out.. the room was full of lizards and creatures everywhere shower was filthy and hardly any hot water! the main issue i wouldnt go to this hotel unless there is a group of you! as it is situted down a ally way and at night times is not very safe at all!! brilliant for bars and beach but very scaru during night time after you have been out!!.. our room was that bad we ended staying with our friends in another room 5 in 1 hotel room and 2 to each single bed top and tailing for 1 week because of the state of our other room! disgusting place would never return!!!!!

"Still A Great Place To Stay"

Rate:  5 Stars

Stayed here for the fourth time 29th May - 5th June, and still think it`s a great place to stay. The majority of others staying there then all thought the same and want to go back.

Drinks and food prices all very reasonable, in fact they dont seem to have changed since i first went there in 2009.

Location is absolutely perfect - 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from the nightlife.

The people who run the place are really helpful and friendly, and the Olympic rep was fantastic too, all of them helping to arrange a bbq + quiz night for a guests birthday.

We had maids round every other day, changing the sheets and towels.

Will definitely stay there again, hopefully in September this year.

Room tip: Take a plug in for your room, and switch it on every night before you go out. I`ve always done t...

"Great base for a cheap holiday - definately best for young people."

Rate:  4 Stars

We went for a week at the end of June, 4 lads + 4 girls aged 17-19 and everything was fine.
All of the staff are fine, be respectul and polite and you won`t have any problems at all, the bad reviews must either reflect previous staff who no longer work there or people who acted like idiots and wonder why they were treated as such.
Food at the bar is very reasonable and very nice, especially good for curing a hangover, the drinks are fairly priced and the guy behind the bar is great.
No complaints at all about the rooms and the pool is a good size and so refreshing in the middle of the day.
The location is perfect, 2 minute walk to a bar, 2 minute walk to a shop and 5 to the beach.
Only complaint about the apartments is the lack of air conditioning which can be very uncomfortable at times.
Only bad experience was at the fault of our rep not the staff - we drunkely returned from our first night on the strip and were stopped by a pretty scary security guy because we didnt have a wristband to show we were guests. Pretty scary experience as the guy had a bat, but as soon as he realised our honest mistake he found the rep to give us wristbands and even helped one of the lads open his door as he was too drunk to do so!
It`s affordable, it`s a great place to relax during the day, and it`s so central to the strip you don`t have to stumble home very far.

"great for young people"

Rate:  3 Stars

stayed here with 10 girls for a week from 3rd-10th july 2012..nice pool and bar area, not far from the main strip and close to the beach, the owners were friendly (especially by the end of the holiday once we got to know them) but the cleaners were rude and stole money from our room. the food is really nice and not overpriced. we had a lizard in our room for the full week and numerous cockroaches, it was impossible to have a shower without flooding the bathroom!! its also extremely hot on a night but we expected this anyway..non of the girls had any major problems with the room. overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to young groups as its only a short walk from the bars and clubs

"Stolen money"

Rate:  1 Stars

Had bruises on my hips due to the uncomfortable beds
No air con meaning impossible to sleep
Security guard put my friend in hospital and on a drip for 10 hours
Last day, almost 200 euros of mine was stolen from the hotel safe - clearly by the owner Yanis or his staff, he did nothing about this, my other friends money from different rooms was also stolen from the safe so i advice if you do unfortunately stay in this hotel, do not leave valuables in the safe
The shower head was also broken so it wasn`t possible to have a shower unless you held it up yourself
The balcony doors wouldn`t lock so anyone on the street could break in
If you were able to get any sleep then you would be rudely awakened by the cleaners at about 10am maybe twice in the week if you were lucky, who clearly had not heard of knocking, let alone cleaning properly
The hotel owner is known by others for loving money, enough said.
