"great holiday!"

Rate:  4 Stars

My partner and I have just come back from a week away at Olga - we had a great time! Nikos and his family are just great! Lovely bar, pool and beach area. The air con and safe were not that expensive unlike some other places in Greece! Perfectly located for beach, restaurants, mini markets etc and not too far a walk to the old town and the next door livelier part Plantanias. Rooms were great - we stayed at the back of the hotel so its was quiet and peaceful. Rooms could have been serviced a bit more - i.e. swept a little everyday - or at least left us with a broom! But other than that I cannot fault the place! Fab :) will be coming back!

Room tip: towards the back of the holtel - not rooms 11 or 10!

"Great - hope to be back"

Rate:  5 Stars

Excellent little block of appartments - exceptionally clean. Great pool big enough for the apartments, right on the beach so best of both worlds. We were lucky and got Room 1 which is probably about the best for views in the block. Might have been a bit disappointed if we had got one over looking the road! The appartments were cleaned 6 days a week. Only problem was had to wait 2 hours for the room when we got there at about 4pm!!! Bus service is excellent only 1.60 euros to Chania which is not a long bus ride and certainly worth going to. Hope to return for a relaxing holiday sometime. Plus the tavernas and restaurants were fairly cheap and never had a bad meal. :-)

"Excellent property,Excellent location"

Rate:  5 Stars

I am a Travel Agency manager and have been for over 30 years and did a lot of research before choosing this property. The minute we stepped off the transfer coach I knew we had made the right decision for the holiday we wanted. We were greeted by Nicos (the owner) and his wife and shown to our room. It was bright, airey and spotless. Basic but more than than we needed, twin beds, large wardrobe with loads of coathagers, dressing table and a couple of chairs. A small kitchenette had 2 hot plates, kettle and a large fridge with a freezer compartment. The bathroom was large but had a shower only. I researched the property and faxed Nicos asking for a top floor room overlooking the sea (rooms 1 & 2) and we were allocated room 2. The views were stunning, uninterupted views across the pool, beach and over to the offshore island, perfect, The balcony contained 2 chairs a table and drying rack. The only problem with these rooms are the fact they are North facing so don`t get any sun, but the view more than makes up for that. Room safes cost 10 euros a week, being September we didn`t need the air con. Beds were very comfortable, sheets were changed midweek as were the towels, which had seen better days but thats picking fault.
The pool is small, but very nice and again spotlessly clean. The bar which is right on the beach serves good reasonably priced snacks and drinks and again is kept very clean. There are plenty of sunbeds on the beach and are available for 2 euros per day. The beach is excellent, just a few small stones and shelves gently. Watersports and trips to the nearby island are provided nearby.
The property fronts onto the main street and there is a supermarket across the road and plenty of restaurants nearby which all seemed good and prices reasonable, but make the effort and walk up to the old village and visit the Restauant Manolis, an excellent family restaurant which has been around since 1978. In most places you can get a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine for 30 Euros.
This property provides excellent, basic accommodation in a very good location and most of the clients were regulars, some I spoke to had been going for 20 years.
Rooms 1 & 2 (first floor) and 11 & 12 (ground floor) face the sea. Most other rooms are on the side and have smaller balconies, have some site of the sea but get morning sun. A couple of rooms overlook the road and will get some noise.

Room tip: Rooms 1 & 2 first floor, 11 & 12 ground floor for sea views overlooking the pool

"Good location, clean and spacious "

Rate:  4 Stars

Booked a last minute week, studio for three. I was a little concerned we might be like sardines but was pleased to find a good sized room with three `proper` beds, no sofa bed in sight. There is a good shower room, small `kitchen` area, with sink, two ring hob, extractor fan and decent sized fridge with freezer compartment. Very minimal equipment but good electric kettle. Ok for basic breakfast, sandwiches etc but you won`t be cooking gourmet meals. We ate breakfast sitting on the beds, as there is just a very small table with two chairs. The balcony was tiny, impossible to sit three at the same time; besides you are inches away from your neighbour, with their dripping underwear and towels draped over the adjoining waist high wall. No privacy whatsoever.
The air conditioning was efficient and powerful, but at 50euros per week, very expensive luxury, especially as the key system means you have to turn off all electric when leaving the room. There is a small safe but it costs 10euros for the key.

Bed linen (a top and bottom sheet, and two smallish towels) are changed once a week. There is also a blanket available. The floor is mopped most days, and rubbish taken away, also one toilet roll per day (except Sundays). I would have liked a cloth, drying towel and a little washing up liquid to be provided, you need to bring your own or buy a bottle from the supermarket

Where this place scores is on location. Two steps and you are on the beach. Two steps the other way, you are in the main street. The beach is shingle/sand but excellent swimming. You can hire beds/umbrella from the bar (about 5euros a day but might be able to negotiate a weekly price).

The bar sells nice snacks and drinks but are a bit pricey. We stumbled across the road on our first night, tired from our journey, and found a wonderful restaurant called Taverna Milonas. Fantastic food, excellent service, family run, good atmosphere. We went there every night, couldn`t fault it. Complimentary raki and dessert and even a sprig of fragrant stephania to perfume the room.

A lot of reviewers speak highly of the owner of olga beach, Nikos. He was ok to us but we barely saw him. I get the impression that the level of friendliness increases with the amount of money spent in the bar.

We had some issues with our toilet plumbing, needing to get it attended to about 4 times, but it was fixed very quickly,

We hired a car from the rental adjacent (Nikos` brother I believe). Got a good deal and saw lots of the island. We had a good week here, very nice place.

Room tip: You cannot choose a room, you get what you are given, but rooms overlooking road must be very noisy.

"Handy for beach"

Rate:  3 Stars

Yes, you are right on the beach and central for the resort. The place was clean and the pool was great for kids and next to the bar. So I am not going to knock this place, especially as it was so cheap and most things worked, albeit , like the toilet, a little inefficient. But, hey, when you complained things were fixed straight away. The owner was ok, but was bemoaning constantly about business being bad, but if you sit most of the day on your rear and your prices are high, most sensible people take off somewhere else. If he had a hangover, which seemed to be most days, he could get grouchy, and one day took a knife to a stray ball from the pool. His brother, who rents cars from the front, is great. You can haggle a great deal from him and take note on his warnings about driving on some of the mountain tracks. Also, if you drive to Knossos, theres about 20 speed cameras very well hidden. With 2 days to process, don`t get caught at the beginning of your hol. Fantastic restaurant directly opposite, everything fresh and beautifully cooked. I have lived in Greece for a while and cannot recommend this restaurant enough. All in all, don`t expect anything remotely luxurious, the room sizes are ok, the beds are ok, in fact everything is ok. Just! Pedroinpobla

""Great Relaxing Holiday" "

Rate:  5 Stars

Stayed at Olga Beach in July 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The apartments were spotless and so was the pool and surrounding areas. The beach was lovely and clean and it was only a few yards from our apartment. We hired a car from Nikos` brother whose shop was just at the front of the apartments and he does a good deal if you are staying there. We went to various places including the beautiful Elefonissi beach with the pink sand (well worth a visit). We had our lunch several times at the Olga and it was very good especially the calamari. It was that good we have just booked to go back in June 2012 and can`t wait.

"Such a nice clean place"

Rate:  4 Stars

Quick late deal holiday, used Olympic Holiday website and saw this place. It does what it says on the can. Its right on the beach, extremely clean, lovely family and convenient for buses to Chania. Beach beds 5euros per day for 2, air con a bit dear at 50euros per week but necessary. If you want to book trips to Elafonisi, or Gramvousa or the gorge go to Elafonisi Travel in Chania its at the top of the main road down to the harbour. Trips half the price of Olympics and identical and they will pick you up in Aghia Marina along the road from the Apartments. The little sightseeing train is quite good we went in the evening on the Orange Valley ride you can book across the road at the Motorbike Hire Shop. Chania is lovely but gets very hot and busy we went 7-30 am on the bus and had a lovely walk round the harbour followed by breakfast overlooking the boats. Then shopped and wandered up and down the narrow streets before getting the bus back at lunchtime. You will need about 15 euros per head for a meal excluding drinks so it is not cheap, a beer is 3 euros. But we had a fab week and came back tanned and chilled

Room tip: rooms lovely and clean front rooms a bit noisy but if air con on and windows closed you don`t no...

"1st Class"

Rate:  5 Stars

Just back from the most relaxing 2 weeks !!! Had a fantastic time due the fabulous hospitality of Nicos, Maria and Yannis and of course little Olga. Maria`s chips are the best in the world. Egg and chips is highly recommended..... The location is spot on, right on the beach. Really enjoyed their BBQ night ,tho all that food could have fed us twice over. The Aletri Restauranrt, just right at the petrol station was , again fantastic as usual. we are both on diets since our return. Will be back next year as nothing can match it. Thanks all at the Olga Beach for making our holiday so special...see you next year

"Can`t wait to go back!"

Rate:  5 Stars

These are amazingly situated studio apartments - the name doesn`t lie, they really are on the beach!
The rooms are equipped with all you`d need, there`s a nice little pool but it`s all overshadowed by the beautiful beach.
The little bar does great snacks and cocktails, perfect for lunch or a quick pre-dinner drink.
It`s family run and you can tell, they are all very welcoming and friendly. Part of the family also runs a car hire place in front of the apartments & they`ll cut a deal to guests at Olga :)
I really can`t wait to go back next year, it`s a little Greek paradise!

"Beware of the traffic noise"

Rate:  3 Stars

I had previously read a review which said that rooms 10 and 11 were to be avoided because they overlooked the main road. We were unlucky enough to be given room 10.
The traffic was non stop 24 hours a day, very noisy and in the end I was glad to pack my case and come home.
I would imagine that the rooms facing the beach are enjoyed by those fortunate enough to have one, but if you stay here you`re taking a risk that you won`t end up like we did.
I also think it`s a liberty to charge 5 euros a day for a couple of sun beds for guests.

Room tip: Avoid inland rooms. You will be overlooking the main road and unless you`re stone deaf you`l...
