"Greek hospitality in a traditional setting"

Rate:  5 Stars

The service was very good, we enjoyed it very much. The location gives you the opportunity to live in the old town and get into the modern city within 5-minute-walk. The rooms were clean and the lady who runs the place prepared a lovely breakfast for us. When we woke up, she cooked eggs and toast, she served us some hoome-made jam and organic honey. It was like she was our good grandmother who wanted to make sure we begin our days fueled properly. There is a cosy lobby with a fireplace burning where we played cards and other board-games. It doesn`t provide you with a good view, but you can have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine literally next to the place, so it is convenient.

"A taste of traditional Edessa"

Rate:  5 Stars

The Varosi guest house is situated in the old city of Edessa (also named Varosi) and a convenient side, close to free parking space.
It is a very quiet, old residence, excellently renovated. Our room and the common areas are decorated in a traditional style with old furniture and antiques and beautiful knitwork. Staying in such an old building is an experience to remember.

The hosts and staff are very hospitable, they even gave us a choice between rooms. The breakfast was also very rich.
Our room, on the first floor, was very bright, with a new bathroom, overlooking the back side of other old buildings in the neighborhood.
The guest house is excellently located for any visitor to Edessa to see all the sightseeing. It is very close to the Edessa waterfalls and the open air water museum.

"A magical place"

Rate:  5 Stars

This is a delightful guesthouse in a lovely historic setting not far from the waterfalls.
Although I stayed only one night, it provided me with a magical experience; from the welcoming aperitif of delicious preserved figs and walk to the waterfalls, to traditional Greek singing in the nearby open “theatre” in the early evening (with wine and snacks), rounded off with an excellent supper at a local taverna.
The guesthouse is immaculate, beautifully restored and furnished, with attractive lounge areas to relax in and meet other guests, and a warm friendly atmosphere.
The couple who run the place are charming and although their English is limited (but not as much as my Greek) we could communicate well enough to get the important messages across, like where is a good place to eat (Taverna Stathmos, which I can recommend). When I first arrived there was also another woman there to welcome me, who spoke good English and did the check in formalities (possibly one of their daughters, who run another hotel nearby). They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.
Guesthouse Varosi provides beautiful accommodation, an excellent breakfast and kind and caring hosts. I loved it, my only regret being that I could not stay longer.

"Excellent and well located"

Rate:  5 Stars

Hotel Varosi is located in the lovely Varosi area of Edessa, minutes by foot from the waterfalls and the town center. The hotel is charming and well kept, and the owners are most helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

"You feel like a personal guest in a traditional Macedonian household"

Rate:  5 Stars

This is a very special place - small, but perfectly formed in every way. It is absolutely the place to stay in Edessa if you want to get under the skin of the region - very friendly welcome, delightful furnishings (room small because house small), lovely cat, absolutely huge and delicious freshly-made breakfast. There`s a lovely upper sitting room and a balcony which catches the breeze nicely on a hot day. You are in the heart of the oldest district which is fascinating, and only a stone`s throw from the astonishing waterfalls and water features of Edessa. In September it was deliciously a little cooler than down on the plain, much appreciated. Great base for visiting Pella archaeological site.
