"New hotel name "PALEROS RESORT" - Very relaxing Vacations"Rate:  3 Stars
First of all this hotel has a different name. It`s new name is PALEROS RESORT owned by Greeks the last two years. Unlike the previous years nowdays the hotel is full of Families. In this very piecefull environment you can relax and have time with your family. We booked a room via booking.com for the price of 77€ including half board. Believe me for August in Greece is by far the lowest price. Nice spacious rooms recently renovated. Breakfast was ok, not very rich. Meal at the indoor tavern was very tasty with plenty of well cooked greek dishes. The most annoying was the staff at the tavern which was too slow and sometimes forgotten what we have ordered so we had to wait more than 30 minutes to start eating. Another negative was the garden and the area around rooms. Garden was full of grass, flowers and palm trees not very well maintained. The owner Mrs Vaso - was great, very helpfull, polite and friendly. Beach is right opposite the hotel. You just have to cross a non-busy street. Beach is sandy and not deep but the water is very cold! Nearby village - PALEROS - is just 1 kilometre away, around 20 minutes on foot. If you like relaxing vacations is the right place. Hope year by year be more improved.
Room tip: Call mrs Vaso the owner - She is very hepfull and polite

"From one of the best resorts of Greece to the worst one..."Rate:  1 Stars
Just for start and to talk generally for Palairos; its a very peaceful place, the best vacations if you want to relax andntake a time off from your busy schedule... If you are young you can go there for the abive reasons, or if you are older just for relaxation too its good...
Now to talk for this ``resort``(not even close...): I ve been there since I was 8 years old with my parents and I stll go with my boyfriend now that I am 22...So I can tell a lot about this place!!!
The last time I went there with my parents about 2004 the place was amazing!!! It HAD a shop in it, 2 large pools, massage house, 2 bars(1 in the pool and 1 a bit further), a very good room were you could find a large too boufet with everything you wanted for breakfast, 2 tennis courts, 2 mini ping pong courts, 1 playground, 1 ``tipi`` were you could just sit under it and chat with other people, 1 very good tavern and of course its great garden with plants from all over the world...
Now everything above are in the past... the only things from the above that are still there and in operation are the tennis courts(but noone of course uses them...), the main pool(which last year was full of dirt) and the tavern(really really really expensive...)...a really abandoned place full of cobwebs(today we even found a dead mouse in our room..), Mrs Vasso that is now the ``boss`` I can tell that all the money she gets every year from the timeshares go to the coiffures to make her hair done...rooms are horrible, airconditions in 16degrees blow hot air!all the previous accomodations are not there, even the bulbs from the lights!!!very dirty and every year we come she says``YES, YES WE HAVE UPDATED THE ROOMS AND EVERYTHING IS SETTLED!!!``, the next she can do its just laugh in our face!!!just shame on the bosses that are now in charge, the once one of the bests resorts I ve been to the abandoned Cruella`s house....This is probably the last year I m coming at Palairos and very confident to leave my timeshare for a better place were I can find value for money...
Room tip: every room you will get the tv won`t probably catch any channel, will be as dirty as every other...

"The place where time has stopped ..."Rate:  2 Stars
If you look at brochures, images or videos from that hotel you will be excited. Even when you arrive there, the place seems to be what you were promised. The dream stops when you find out that this beautiful resort is no more a Mark Warner hotel but a Mr Dimitris & Mrs Vasso hotel. In brief, the rooms are ok but the service is horrible. We spent a week there in summer and we had the feeling that these people didn`t want us there. Amateurs! This is the word to describe the service. If you want to go anyway pay only for staying there and don`t mess with the restaurant for breakfast lunch or dinner. You will get pissed off by the waiters (amateurs also, young local kids that have nothing to do with "service") who will come and ask what you want after some hour ... and you will eat after one hour at least! Any demand of ours to the reception was not satisfied if we asked less than three times.
The place has a restaurant, pools, tennis courts, gardens and trees. But it seems that facilities are not maintained at all. The grass, the trees the flowers show that there is noone there to take care of them. The plyground for the kids was really dangerous because it was not maintained at all. It seems as if time has stopped when Mark Warner left.
The price is low but if you go there you wll understand why

"Good hotel for younger people. Timeshareing is a risk!"Rate:  4 Stars
I see all reviews here less one are from the English company guests. Well, I`ve been there as a time share guests and as an independant, and as a visitor. So, here are my comments:
Timeshare system in Greece is [-]. You may find luxury hotels on the programm you may find hotels where not even the linens are provided. That`s why my parents say, and some friends that have use timesharing for a long time. So, don`t take the risk to buy a timeshare in this country. Paleros is a CLUB hotel, not a luxury hotel, not a city hotel. So, has it`s own special politics. Depending on your expectations and previous experiences, opinions on Paleros will vary a lot. When I was younger, I used to go there with parents, first year was before even English company called Mark Warner arrived! Resort has change a lot afterwards!
Public areas are nice, especially the flowers and trees and grass. Local gardeners are working hard to keep them in shape. Swimming pool maybe a bit small during hight season, there is a kids one for English people. Main bar is [-], other bars are good. Not great but good. Same about restaurant and pitzeria/taverna. Mini market is good. Till 2002 a local guy owned the hotel, and he was great and cared a lot for the guests. Prices in shop and bars and restaurants were reasonable and good. After 2002, a stupid Corfu guy buy the resort. Spend money to change bars and renovate them, but now prices are like London. Very expensive. And he doesn`t care at all about timeshare.
Timesharing rooms are same as 2002, he spend no money to keep them in good shape. They are not in good condition! If you want a holiday to spend lots of time in the room, don`t go there!
BUT if you like sea, beach is OK. And depends really, English company sometimes agree and timeshare can use kajiak and do water ski and tennis lessons, but not always. Prices depends too. English local manager is half Greek half American I think. He is very rude with timeshare guests. Some years back, he told my mother to go away from pool because she was smoking. In a bad way. This year I saw him one time, he was very drunk,I think he is alcoholic. I have make friends in Paleros,so I learn a lot about the resort.
Greek manager, the Corfu man`s person, you will never see. He is useless. My parents were looking for him all the time last 3 times. Nowhere he was. Assistant manager only, very nice man. But I think owner gave orders to do nothing to help timeshareing guests,so he can`t help. Paleros village is nice, with some nice persons to go out and drink a bit. Most timesharing people are old or have families. Not the best hotel for them.Rooms are [-].But for younger persons, it is good. Sea at day, go out at village at night. And Greek personel in the resort are very good. They try to help. They can`t because owner is bad, but they always try. Reception staff very good. Tall girl works there many years. Many hours and many problems at work, but always good at people. English personel sometimes is good, sometimes is bad with timeshareing Greek guests.
I don`t agree with American timeshare guy.He writes bad things for personel, but I don`t believe him. Timeshareing guests arrive and go away only on Satturday. My birthday is at 1 October. It was Wedesday. How he went to hotel not at Satturday and wants to have a room? If he went late days, he didn`t call? There is a mistake in his words. You can believe everything in hotel is bad, but no personel. Reception personel is good. Manager is very bad.And owner. But personel good.
If you are younger and want to be out, go there. If you have a family or are biger age, and want a good room, don`t go.
