"Greek hospitality at its best."

Rate:  5 Stars

Charming, elegant, and comfortable, the Hotel Ganimede in Galixidi is a find! A restored captain`s house from the 1800`s, each room of the old building is furnished tastefully with antiques, refined wall decorations, and embroidered linens. With high ceilings, beams, and wooden floors, the rooms--each one different--provide a romantic escape into the past, and yet the bathrooms are spacious, clean, and up-to-date. Old family heirlooms fill the common rooms, hallways, and stairwells, and outside breakfast is served under an arbor of jasmine with pots of gardenias ringing the terrace. In this setting, the trim and lovely Chrisoula, who speaks impeccable English, bustles as she provides comfort to her guests and a most memorable breakfast of the freshest breads and rolls from her husband`s bakery, freshly squeezed orange juice, home-made preserves, yogurt, cheeses, and a host of other treats. The town is exquisite with wonderful tavernas along the waterfront and lovely shops. While tourists may find temptations, the village seems in many ways untouched and unharmed by tourists. June is a lovely time to be there, very quiet in the day. You can swim from the pier, but at night the town is lively and festive. Chrisoula`s hotel is not to be missed. I am quite fussy about where I stay, and honestly Hotel Ganimede is more pleasant than many so-called fancy hotels. One feels like a house guest at someone`s home and not like a tourist.

Room tip: Choose an upstairs room in the old building.

"We really enjoyed our stay at Ganymede Hotel"

Rate:  4 Stars

We spent three nights in Galaxidi, and we stayed at Ganymede. The only drawback was that it was rather difficult to find when we arrived (the indications in town are not very clear). Put once we got there, we enjoyed it a lot: very friendly service (chrysilla and her team are enthousiastic and efficient), excellent breakfast, nice courtyard and a very beautiful family room (tastfully decorated). The hotel is rather small and cosy.
You can walk to the harbour (only 10 minutes). For older people it`s bether to have a car, because you have to climb to go back to the hotel.
The hotel has no private parking, but we never had problems when we wanted to park.
Galaxidi is a good place to stay if you want to visit Delphi, Arahova and Ossios Loukas. There are a lot of restaurants and bars.

"Cosy environment in a great place!"

Rate:  4 Stars

Ganymede hotel is an old property with an inner courtyard that was recently renewed. The view is not so good but the services, the hand made breakfast and the cosy environment compensates you.
Furthermore Galaxidi is so beautiful and if you walk around the village and port you will still enjoy it enough.
I stayed there with my parents and sister. As when we travel together we prefer to stay all in one place we reserved a suite with a small attic. It was a great room with a fireplace, 2 TV’s, small kitchen, and a little sitting place!!
The breakfast was great with jams -that they produce- that are really tasty and you can buy!!
I really enjoyed it and I recommend it!
