"Good solid hotel. excellent location and friendly staff"

Rate:  4 Stars

We stayed here for a long weekend.. Hotel is located very close to s-bahn station.
Rooms are comfortable and clean without being luxurious. A good solid hotel.
Staff were all very helpful.
Would stay at this hotel again without hesitation.
Wifi has been said before slow and frequent password changes. No problem for us but could be better.

"Great location"

Rate:  4 Stars

This is a modern business hotel in the eastern part of Berlin, across the road from the Friedrichstrasse station providing immediate access to the Underground, S-Bahn, mainline trains and trams. It is a few blocks from Unter Den Linden, and many of the tourist attractions in this area are easily walkable. The taxi ride from Tegel Airport cost approximately 20 Euros. I arrived early, well before checkin time, and was provided with the room. Staff were very pleasant and provided lots of useful information. This was on the 7th floor, with no outlook to Berlin apart from hotel rooms opposite it. Staying there for 6 nights, it was quite a comfortable stay. A modern décor, kept very clean each day. It really is time to provide decent coffee with a proper coffee machine. The instant coffee was disgusting. Internet was provided by SwissCom and works on daily vouchers. This might be useful for a one night stay, but having to go down to the lobby each day and get a daily voucher to get connected was a nuisance. There was an inroom safe which was opened and closed with the swipe of a credit card. This is OK when there is one person in the room, but a useless system when travelling with another person in a shared room, and where both are on different business agendas and itineraries. Not much space to put your luggage in the room – except on the hotel furniture. A twin room has single beds - not the US style of a twin room with two double beds They are small beds. I did not use the hotel for dining – there are many cafes and restaurants surrounding the hotel. I used the Hotel’s electric taxi car service back to Tegal – just little dearer than the regular taxi, depite claims that there was no fare difference.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a view

"excellent location - rooms not as advertized"

Rate:  3 Stars

We spent 2 nights here while visiting a friend in Berlin. Great location for sight seeing and access to the transit system. While we did arrive in Berlin many hours before check in, the hotel was quite accommodating to store our luggage while we explored. Unfortunately, when we arrived and indicated we were checking in later - the desk staff attempted to up-sell us from our "king" bed size room to a junior suite as our room was not ready. When I said we would wait for the room we had paid for, he then offered a room with two twin beds pushed together. As I had paid for a room with a king bed - I politely declined and said we would wait for our room to be ready. Upon our return and check in, we found that we were in a room with two twin beds pushed together!!!!! Had I been informed that there were in fact no king bed rooms and I would be getting two twins I would have checked in early and the whole process would have been much smoother. This hotel came highly recommended and as a result of what I now feel is over paying for a room that I didn`t get, I will not be passing along this recommendation.

"Lovely hotel but lifts are strange"

Rate:  4 Stars

This is a great hotel, very clean and spacious with great staff. However, your lift card only allows you access to your floor - not very helpful if you`re in a group and scattered around the hotel. Lots of running up and down the stairs - or was I missing something obvious?

"Historic location"

Rate:  4 Stars

This hotel is in the middle of everything in the former East Berlin. Subway and train stations are just outside of the hotel. Numerous stores, shops, restaurants and just about everything is in walking distance. There are museums and landmarks close by that remind on the city`s turbulent history during WWII and during the division of the City.
The hotel staff was professional and pleasant. Our room was fairly sized and clean. Even though traffic and trains were buzzing by down below, our room was quiet with some amazing sound proofing. I wish American hotel designs could take few notes here. Parking is at a premium and pricy. They only have a limited number of parking available and it was not easy to get to them.

Room tip: Our room was on the higher floor facing Friedrich St.
