"Quirky & fun!"

Rate:  4 Stars

This is not your typical hotel and if you just want a regular hotel reception/room then this is not for you, however if you are up for something a bit different then definitely go for this. You walk through the main seating/bar area to get to the reception which can be a bit daunting but everyone there is really friendly, the reception staff give you a can of coconut water and some quirky little tokens for your breakfast - which I was worried about losing! Breakfast was a typical european one, not your full english but a great selection of hot and cold food. My room was on two levels with a bunk style bed upstairs but a bit posher - I`d describe the place as a posh hostel!? The room was basic but funky, no wardrobe just a rope with some hangers on and some hammock bays to put your stuff. Some of my friends stayed in rooms that just were on one level and so the beds took up most of the room space so I`d def recommend you get a bunk one for more room. The sink was in the main area with a seating area with views to the train stop and windows you could open and a desk although does have a separate shower/toilet area but I wouldn`t share with a friend unless you are really close ha. We spent a couple of evening sin the relaxed bar area which has a mountain of books, looks amazing! there is low sofa style seating and table seating, they also do great cocktails! There is also a lovely courtyard area with lots of seating and a separate dining area for breakfast. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the east side gallery (berlin wall) and with train/tram services right opposite. I would love to stay here again!

Room tip: Get a room with the second level bunk bed :)

"Perfection!!"

Rate:  5 Stars

I`m just back from a two night stay in Berlin. I have never been moved to write on here so quickly before.
I have been lucky in my life to work for some superb hotels and hospitality companies, I have also been very lucky to have stayed in many great hotels.
This hotel and the people there are stunning!
The communication before arrival was swift and professional.
On arrival, the lovely Laura was a delight. Helping me with all my questions, giving me a can of their own Coconut Water called Fountain of Youth which was amazing and telling me about the hotel.
My room (232) was an upgrade, a quirky, mexican themed cosy room. Again, perfection.
The location is great, 3 minute walk from the station.
I`m a little bit in love with this hotel!!! Great vibe, great music in the lounge, great food and the best people working there.
The breakfast.....Oh my lord, the breakfast!....all organic, home made, quality ingredients, loads to choose from. Truly stunning.
If you are going to Berlin, look no further than Michelberger Hotel. You will not be disappointed.

"Cool place"

Rate:  5 Stars

The Michelberger is like not other hotel I have ever stayed at. The lobby is integrated with a lobby/café area - which turns into a cool bar at night. There is a mix of guests both at the hotel and the café/bar, and you are likely to feel right at home whether you are 20 or 60, and whether you are alone, a couple or with a group of friends.
Hotel rooms are unique and different. I stayed with two friends and found the perfect room for three adults, which is not very easy.
The breakfast is not included, but to me it was worth the extra cost. It was a great breakfast in a beautiful restaurant, which is open for dinner in the evening. I was there in the winter but it looked like there would be outdoor seating if the weather allowed it.
The staff is nice, efficient and service-minded in a relaxed kind of way.
The hotel is located in former East Berlin, very close to the train, but there is not a great range of cafés, restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity of the hotel - although you can find it only a short train ride away.

"Amazing vintage hotel"

Right in Warschauer str., it is the perfect location is you are visiting the real Berlin.
It is a urban artistic hotel wich has a wonderful restaurant and bar/caffee.
It is definitely recommended to visit the Michelberger hotel only for a drink, a coffe or a cake.
I love the original concept of this Hotel, it is really unique for young people, couples, artists.

"A good place - not for everybody"

Rate:  3 Stars

While on a business trip, I consciously chose this hotel knowing it was not a business hotel. However, I still wanted to try, as it is well-rated and it`s very unique. The atmosphere is very lively and young and the entire experience is very different from most of the hotels I stayed in. I opted for a "loft room". As Berlin`s old buildings usually have ceilings of 4 meters or more, the room is vertically separated in two by a wooden structure. The bed (basically a mattress) on the top (quite close to the ceiling - might not be good for claustrophobics) and the rest below.

The plus. You feel like in a mini-apartment that creates a kind of interesting relaxed ambiance.

The minus: all the rest. Need to use the bathroom during the night ? You have to be truly careful not to kill yourself as the wooden stair is really (really) steep. Wanna watch TV (small) with your girlfriend ? Very hard to do so while laying in bed, as it is downstairs. Want to open or close the window ? You literally have to climb on the desk or the "sofa". I could clearly spot the foot of one of the housekeepers on the sofa. Wanna spend some time working / blogging ? You have to sit on a mini-chair, the desk being low.
Also my shower was miserably inefficient. No water pressure (unacceptably low) and the shower head was badly fixed on the wall. I obviously asked this to be fixed... "Yes, sir". Nothing happened until
the checkout.

Good breakfast in a nice large cosy room.

Hope this helps

"Fantastic!!"

Rate:  5 Stars

This is one of the most unusual and best hotels we`ve ever stayed at. Great rooms with very clever and quirky use of space. the TVs at the end of the corridors showing The Big Lebowski was a great idea. Lively bar with good DJs and cocktails. Very close to transport links. Reception gave us printed maps with places of interest including an excellent one with the locations of nearby record shops. Look forward to staying again.
