"meticulous accomodation"

Rate:  4 Stars

This hotel room was very meticulously clean and staff were helpful and spoke perfect English. Found area to be quiet, with free parking in street. Breakfast was included in our package and was excellent (traditional German) lovely pancakes and omellette. Hotel is right next to subway although found Berlin metro system very confusing! Conveniently, across the road is a small shopping centre for groceries. .Hint, If you ask staff they will provide you with tea & coffee tray with kettle for room. Join accor club (free) before you go and receive free internet for your stay

"Very happy with our stay"

Rate:  5 Stars

We were really happy with our stay in this 4 Star Hotel, just a few minutes drive outside the city center of Berlin. The location is quiet but very close to a subway. The staff is very friendly and hard working. The rooms are clean and of a good standard. Beds are comfy. Breakfast was if an excellent quality. The croissants and the Bircher müsli are 5 star standard and the fresh orange juice was great. You can order every coffee you desire plus eggs of your choice with your breakfast. I can recommend it to anyone.
The hotel even has an outdoor pool for the hot summer days!

"No where"

Rate:  3 Stars

If you are working for Siemens then this hotel is fine. Otherwise stay closer to the center. Yes this is close to the airport but so what, get a taxi and stay closer in town. The rooms are small, the bed is hard as a rock, pillows are not great and as another reviewer said the bathrooms are a bit cramped. The service is nice but not necessarily friendly. It comes back to the area though. I walked all around and in the middle of the day it`s empty- it`s an industrial suburb. From here to the center of town (Brandenburg gate area) is a 40 minute taxi with traffic and by train (2nd day) is 35 minutes with 2 train changes.

"Hotel for quick visit in Berlin"

Rate:  3 Stars

We stayed over the weekend with friends in Berlin. Hotel is located next door to the U-Bahn (subway), in the quiet (at least on the weekends) Berlin Suburb (siemens-stadt). In the nearby are few pubs, where You can enjoy the evening with the local inhabitants if You do not feel like going to the center. No problem with parking. Outdoor swimming pools is quite miniature, and is next door to the breakfast tables tarrace. Therefore It is not likely to use it for swimming in the morning or in the evening.
Price is excellent though.

Room tip: groundfloor rooms, are at the street level. If You do not like people peeping into Your room, take...

"Nice but nothing special - poor internet"

Rate:  3 Stars

This hotel was recommended for business because of it`s proximity to the airport and their office. While it is close to the Airport and their office, I would not chose to stay again.

The staff were helpful and efficient but after a long flight my room was not ready and I had to wait over an hour. The room was small but fine on the first floor. The wireless internet in my room was very poor. I had to take my laptop to the lobby (50 metres away) to connect then walk back to my room to hope the connection remained.

While there is an outdoor pool it is not that inviting and did not see anyone get in.

The breakfast was fine but not exceptional in any way.

There is very little to see or do in the area.

Overall the hotel was fine for a business stay (except the wireless) and it was convenient to business meetings I was attending but I would not chose to return. I would prefer a hotel closer to some sights that I could walk to in the evenings.

Room tip: Fine hotel for short stay in the area. If you are hoping to see Berlin or some sights, find another...

"Travel-friendly, Top-Notch Hotel"

Rate:  5 Stars

Recently we traveled to Berlin for our daughter`s wedding. We scheduled our first day`s stay in a hotel so we could be freshed and rested when meeting our future son-in-law`s parents and family.

Our flight arrived at 8:00 am and we took an $18 Euro taxi ride from Tegel Airport to arrive at our destination. We previously made plans to allow us to check-in early, so we were in our room by 11:00 am and asleep before noon!

The hotel was beyond clean; it was spotless. The room was quiet, peacefully decorated, free from distractions, the bed was so comfortable I thought I was in my own bed. The room was also equipped with a refrigerator, an honors bar, a wide screen TV, writing desk and sitting area.

A restaurant and wine bar is also part of the hotel and the staff are English speakers who are more than willing to accommodate any traveler`s request.

The price was a bargain at only $98 US and a beautiful continental breakfast for 18 Euro was served in our room the following morning.

This particular Mercure hotel is located in Spandau which is in the northwestern area of Berlin, in a very safe and friendly neighborhood. Numerous restaurants are located within four or five blocks, as well as bakeries, liquor stores, markets and home goods retailers.

The U-Bahn is right outside the hotel which makes traveling and connecting easy as pie!
