"Sehr schönes Hotel an guter Lage"

Rate:  4 Stars

"Very nice, newly renovated"

Rate:  5 Stars

I stayed at the am Steinplatz in January 2014. it had reopened in December 2013 in a 100 yr old bldg. The remodel is excellent, elegant lobby, finished interior courtyard, high ceiling (must be 15`) rooms. As an example of the detail, the bathroom floor and mirror are heated! Breakfast was a plentiful buffet for Euro27; add Euro3 for eggs. Restaurant is undoubtedly very good -- I ate only breakfast there. Location is off the main street on the small Steinplatz, short 10 minute walk from Zoo Bahnhof from which you can travel throughout Berlin inexpensively. I requested room ready at 9am (I arrived from jfk at 7) and it was ready, of course the hotel was onlz 20% occupied at the time. I attended the inaugural party which was packed with well appointed Berliners -- almost like a museum opening. My room opened to the courtyard (I slept with window open for fresh air tho it`s air conditioned) but even a street fronting room wd be quiet since it front the teinplatz rather than the major thorofare. I heartily recommend the hotel!

You really couldn`t want anything more in a hotel.
From the moment we arrive we were greeted with a smile and just excellent service. The hotel is just incredible. Without a doubt I will be visiting Berlin again and will be checking back in to the Am Steinplatz. Thank you for just making my stay in Berlin just amazing

Rate:  5 Stars

Zoologischer Garten.

"Gorgeous Upscale Hotel"

Rate:  5 Stars

It is great that this hotel is part of the Marriott Autograph Collection. It may seem expensive but if you have marriott points - use them here! It is a gorgeous upscale hotel that have recently been renovated and reopened in December 2013. The staff were all professional, helpful, and super friendly.

The hotel is situated in a neighborhood within walking distance ( approx. 10 minutes) to shopping (Kurfuerstendamm), restaurants, ubahn, bus stops, and other local attractions.

Our room was on 3rd floor was large with king size bed. Large bathroom with heated floors, separate area for tiolet, shower, and bath. Hi tech peephole that looks like a iphone attached to the door which allows digital viewing of the hallway.

Breakfast buffet was satisfying. It is highly recommended to experience a stay at this beautiful, historical hotel.

"Small jewel of a hotel west of the city center"

Rate:  5 Stars

The Hotel Am Steinplatz is a delight. It’s an old hotel that was renovated beautifully and reopened at the end of 2013. It’s small and calm, like other Marriott “Autograph” hotels, and a welcome contrast to the large and somewhat impersonal standard Marriott business hotels. I stayed for 3 nights in March 2014. The entire place is a tour de force in contemporary hotel decorating. The lobby has an attractive and comfortable seating area with a restaurant and bar with a light bar menu adjacent. The restaurant looks out into a small courtyard. My room was large and very functional, with modern furniture and thoroughly updated systems. Everything was in perfect order and it was sparkling clean. The WiFi was reasonably good and it was free. The staff was friendly and proud of their nice new hotel. I had a rate that included breakfast, and the breakfast was very good. It’s typical of what you find in an upscale northern European hotel – lots of eggs, meats and cheese along with some fruits and lighter fare. The hotel is located west of the city center, facing a small park. It’s a six or seven minute walk to the Zoologischer Banhof (train station), where you can get S-Bahn and U-Bahn (subway) trains and regional trains. From there it’s a five to 10 minute train ride to the sights in the center of Berlin or a couple of minutes’ walk to the shopping on the Kurfurstendamm.

Room tip: Ask for a room facing Steinplatz (the small park in front of the hotel). Ask for a rate that includ...
