"Very nice stay, EXCELLENT value for money"Rate:  5 Stars
THE location! in the middle of the shopping street, with lots of interesting places to see, and where to eat, the bus from Tegel stops in front of the hotel, the S Bahn is two blocks away. Wherever you want to go this location is perfect.
The beds are very comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, staff is friendly, rooms are nice and thoroughly cleaned each day.
The rooms are a bit small but who spends time in the room when you are in Berlin??!! The hotel is quite big and it can be a bit boring to walk aaall the way down the corridor if your room is at the very end of it. It can also be pretty crowded in the breakfast room around 10.15 when closing time is approaching, but the staff is quick and friendly so they manage it well.
We stayed their for New Year`s and on the morning 1st January the breakfast time was extended until noon and all guests got a small present from the hotel which really was a nice touch!!
Excellent value for money!

"Excellent Hotel"Rate:  5 Stars
I spent 5 nights in this hotel which is in an excellent location. It is right in the heart of the shopping area, with Hard Rock Café and many excellent local restaurants very nearby. We followed advice from the reception and tried two local restaurants and they were very good.
The room was perfect, very spacious and very clean. There was a good variety of choices at the buffet breakfast. I was impressed by the team there. The General Manager was there at breakfast greeting his guests. I was told that the hotel belongs to a very well known film director and hence the Hollywood theme.
Will definitely stay with them again next time I am in Berlin.

"An okay stay at the "Filmhotel"..."Rate:  4 Stars
We stayed 3 nights at the Hollywood Media Hotel in Berlin. Just a pleasure trip for my wife and me. The hotel turned out okay in regards to the price.
Very pleasant and helpful employees, who did their best to serve customers.
Hotel was quite clean - rooms too.
Restaurant Capone - an Italian restaurant - located on the premises, was a good experience. Very nice food at resonable prices.
Breakfast is served at the hotel - absolutely nice continental serving.
We would consider staying at the hotel once again if needed.

"Great location, but lots of Kitsch"Rate:  4 Stars
We picked this hotel based on its location, and in that sense it did not disappoint. We had a large, comfortable room with comfortable bed. The photos from the website didn`t quite prepare us for the assault on our senses from all things Hollywood. Everywhere you look, from the bedroom walls to the ceiling of the breakfast room reinforces the film theme. Too much! Even the elevators scream with Hollywood stuff.
There were some minor snafus at the front desk, but most of the personnel were quick to act and courteous.
The breakfast is huge, but then, you`re paying for it.

"Almost perfect"Rate:  5 Stars
I chose this hotel first, because it is dog-friendly, and second, because it is right on the Kurfürstendamm. Not only did the friendly downstairs staff accept my dog, but they also provided her with free chewy sticks in the room, along with a bed, blanket, and supper dish. The wifi was good, the room clean and attractive. The minibar, however was very poorly stocked. Other things were missing, also, like a church key for opening the bottled water that was in the fridge. Downstairs staff asked that I bring this up on my critique and I did. I hope management fixes this minor problem before you visit, because the place is otherwise perfect.

"Great hotel and location!"Rate:  5 Stars
The room was large and clean for a family of four. We had a balcony and overlooked a side road, we were on the sixth floor and it was quiet. Abundance of towels for the family rather than the usual of asking for more towels for the children. The breakfast was varied and included in our reservation.Wide choice of hot and cold food, it even included dried fruit selection and seeds, which I love. It was served from 06.30 hrs until 10.30 hrs, so there was great flexibility for organising our time. The location was great, it could be described as the Kensington of Berlin. Very upmarket, civilised and numerous shops. A DM shop was close by, similar to our Boots chemist, which was handy with young children. The U Bahn was also a few minutes away. We caught the no 100 bus service by the zoo, which was again approx 5/10 mins from hotel. This allowed you to see the main sights and work out the logistics of Berlin, before you start sightseeing. We purchased our tickets from the tourist information site, again by the zoo. We bought the museum ticket for 24 euro per person which allowed entry to over 50 museums on three consecutive days! Children under 18 are free. We visited all five museums on Museum Island, but if they had a special exhibition on you had to pay extra. In addition, all bags and coats have to be stored in lockers or the cloakroom for most museums before they will allow you to enter.
We missed the long queues for the Reichstag by booking our free time slot online in England, this saved at least an hour waiting, make sure you take the reservation sheet and your passport,or they will not let you in. We also booked a free time slot for Nefertiti head at the Neues museum also at the Tourist Information Centre.
Do not make the mistake we made! We purchased a seven day travel ticket for each of us, around 28 euros each. We thought the time would start from the moment of validation, namely your first journey, when you stamp your ticket in the validation machine. However, regardless of what time purchased or validated, it ends at midnight. Hence we were found with an expired ticket by the Inspector on the underground and forced to pay a fixed penalty ticket for each at 40 euros! Despite our clear confusion and lack of intent. It left a sour taste, despite asking the police to intervene and help. They just kept saying they could not help us, and therefore had no choice than to pay!
F. Engels on reception was especially kind and helpful. She printed off our boarding cards for the return flight home.
The final question has to be `Would you stay at this hotel again?` Our answer would be undoubtedly yes!
Room tip: Ask for a room with a balcony, it is always nice to stand in the fresh air and admire the view.
