"Great Hotel"

Rate:  5 Stars

Great Hotel, close to the downtown and 10 meters away from the U-bahn of Markisches Museum.
Very quiet zone, but some Cofee shops around for a good and cheap breakfast (16,5€ in the hotel per person). Water, beer and coffe in the room for free and very helpful staff.
I would repeat.

"Great Berlin Hotel - Friendly, Central , Good Value"

Rate:  4 Stars

We chose this a hotel as a base for our Berlin break with friends, on the positive reviews read all over the travel guides inc TripAdvisor.

The reviews are correct, This is a lovely hotel with friendly and efficient reception staff who were proactive in ensuring our queries and requests were all addressed. The staff often make the difference between a good hotel and a great one. And these guys were a pleasure to talk with.

Room was smart, comfortable and warm. Free Wifi excellent throughout and I loved the novel idea of offering 2 free beers and waters per day. I was so shocked I only used the facility a couple of times - must be getting old! Only issue (mentioned by others) is that the towels are substantial for keeping hands dry, but barely adequate for a main version. Didn`t bother me so much, but Mrs Foxy wasn`t happy!

We had breakfast most days and yes it is expensive at 16 Euro although you can have Continental and/or Scrambled eggs and sausages. I guess it works for the business market on expenses, but for a city break you might be better to try the cafe round the corner and get the same or better much cheaper.

The other major selling point for the Kurfurst is its accessability. Less than 25 metres walk from the steps at Markisches Museum U Bahn you can be in central Berlin within a few minutes of leaving the hotel. No hassle.

Would we come again? You betcha. We had a great time in Berlin and this hotel is the ideal base

"A Fantastic Hotel in Central Berlin!"

Rate:  5 Stars

My husband and I stayed in this hotel this March, I had booked it after searching tirelessly for a suitable hotel. On arrival we were chuffed to see it was literally a stones throw from the tube station. If you use the opposite exit to the lift it puts you right by the hotel.

On arrival to the reception earlier than check in we were given our room key. There was no assistance which I might expect in a 4* but we were fine. Check in to the hotel was extremely swift and we were grateful to be able to check in before 2.00pm.

We stayed in a business room which was a good size with 2 beds pushed together, kettle, free water and beer and TV with movie channels. The bathroom had a full bath, over head shower, toilet and bidet. The bathroom was large and more than adequate for our needs. WiFi was excellent though I just used my phone. It never cut out, no issues with it.

The hotel itself is in an extremely central location, you can pretty much walk everywhere once you know your route. There is a local supermarket 5 mins walk away and a lidl a bit further up the road.

We didn`t have breakfast or use the spa, we felt that the breakfast was too expensive at 16euros. There is a local cafe but we headed into town and purchased a hearty breakfast for 6.50. That`s the only let down for the hotel, affordable breakfast needed!

We loved this hotel and plan to make it our base when we visit Berlin.

"Really nice hotel in a convenient location"

Rate:  5 Stars

My wife and I spent 7 nights in this hotel. The hotel is within 40 metres of a U-Bahn station. It´s just a 15 minute walk to Alexanderplatz or Hackescher Markt and less than a 10 minute walk to Nikolaivertel. The room was well serviced, very clean, spacious, comfortable and equipped with all mod cons. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The 2 complimentary bottles of both beer and water was a nice touch.

"Excellent Hotel and Staff - modern, spacious, Clean and VERY helpful."

Rate:  5 Stars

Having organised a stag do for 21 gents in Berlin, (Friday to Sunday) and we stayed here after the hostel we looked at was fully booked, but this came in at a comparable price based on an early booking and an Expedia discount at the time of booking. Don’t presume thought that this is a Hotel that you might associate with a young STAG parties, it is not and nothing could be further from the reality! The hotel is not a noisy a hotel, it is actually quite classy.

We got a great price for the stay with each room having 2 single beds. We arrived early and tried to check and the lady & gent on reception were extremely friendly and helpful, we couldn`t get all of the rooms as we arrived so early, but they suggested we take the three rooms that had opted for single occupancy and chuck all the remaining bags in those rooms, which we did. The rooms were really to a very high standard, TV, fridge, desk, free WiFi, and a free bottle of beer and water for each night of the stay (a nice touch)... Location is right next to an "underground/metro/train" station with easy onward access to the whole of Berlin including the Airport (via Alexanderplatz). We spoke to the staff and took a walk into Alexanderplatz, it was a 15-20 minute slow walk, it is in a really good location to do pretty much anything in Berlin.

FINDING THE HOTEL; We were quite a large group so it made sense to get 3x 7 seater cabs from the Airport, that came in at about 40-45 Euros all in so was worth it.... However if you are happy to take on the metro system on arrival, it is right next to the Museum station - EASY and that is how we returned to the airport.

All in all i would definitely stay here again, it was really tidy with staff giving it the personal touch, and they all spoke really REALLY good English, which was true of most people in Berlin, and the whole group were blown away by the hotel and price.

Thanks for a great stay :)
