"Chaotic"

Rate:  3 Stars

Hard to find entrance coming from the zoo station with nonexistent signs at the Bikini shopping mall. Staff unfriendly or just stressed and check-in at 3 is a big minus for me. Also trouble with the door coding which made the check-in process very long. Hotel tries to be super-cool and hip, but the lounge area is uninteresting. The bar and restaurant...

Room tip: You either get city view or zoo view. I think zoo is more fun than a rather boring street.

"Great hotel!!"

Rate:  5 Stars

Spent 3 nights in this new hotel and absolutely loved it! Had a twin room, beds were very comfortable. Nice design! Breakfast was superb! The Monkey bar is very cool with great cocktails, perfect place for a sunset drink on the terrace overlooking the zoo. Will definately return to this hotel when I go back to Berlin!

"Loved this hotel"

I loved this hotel but it`s probably not for everyone! Very modern, quirky, cool bar etc... The complete opposite to most hotels I`ve stayed at! Try it, it`s very different but if you prefer conventional hotels you should stay elsewhere ;-)

"Loved it.."

Been in Berlin tons of times and normally don`t like the overpromise, underdelver hip hotels and prefer to stay at the sofitel. Noticed this place was opening and the Zoo location sounded nice and.. it was.
If you travel: for business, with kids, are grumpy: this is not your place, If you`re going to berlin to have a bit of fun, this is a good place to...

Room tip: if you`re on the Zoo side you WILL hear the monkeys, if you request this type of room, don`t...

"Trendy & cool hotel in the heart of Berlin"

Rate:  4 Stars

Really cool and hip hotel if you want a different stay. Lot of the things about the hotel gave us a wow feeling even after 3 nights. Best thing about the hotel is the rooftop restaurant/bar where we spent a lot of time. Breakfast buffet was good. The whole hotel gives you a vibrant feeling with lots of impressions and colors. Keep in mind that it`s really popular right now and all areas are pretty much crowded. There`s a queue every night to their rooftop restaurant.

For us, travelling with a 1,5 year old baby it was a great experience.

"Wife Thinks It`s Quirky ... I Didn`t Get It"

Rate:  4 Stars

Let`s start with the great ... a very modern hotel, impeccably clean with an amazing view of the monkey house from some of the rooms (ours included). The bed was really comfortable and combined with quality bed linen gave us a good sleep. The `rain forest` shower head proved to be a great way of waking up in the morning.

The hotel staff were friendly, spoke very good English and showed extreme tolerance of my best attempts to converse in German.

The views of Berlin from the monkey bar on the 10th floor are great and In the evening it proved popular with residents and locals alike as a DJ played a selection of dance music which my wife and I didn`t mind (although we prefer Michael Buble and the like). Hotel residents are allowed in without waiting but many of the non-residents were turned away because it was so busy.

On the minus side, the room layout was weird and I found the lighting in the room quite dim. The lighting in the toilet was even worse and it was just as well I was totally conversant with where all my `bits` were.

However, all things considered it was a `better than okay` hotel, for the price, but it could have been better.

Room tip: The `jungle` class rooms are the ones overlooking the zoo.

"Cutting Edge- Urban Jungle Hotel - A must see for all!"

Rate:  5 Stars

This is the kind of hotel you can’t wait to go home and tell your friends about, even though you have already instragramed the hell out of it. No picture will ever do the place justice really – (even if you’ve got mad picture taking skills). It’s such a fun hotel with so many details, great vibe, great character, great facilities – how do you capture all of that with one frame!

I saw the pictures before I went, I was excited, but not as excited as I was when I pulled up to the hotel to find hanging bicycles and a cute VW converted into a reception desk and hammocks hanging in the lobby. You instantly get drawn in and you instantly get it. This isn’t like any other hotel. The hotel is themed to the core, everything about it from the lobby to the restaurants to the services are all tailored around the concept of Jungle hotel.

The hotel overlooks the Berlin Tiergarten Zoo - which is where it gets its theme, and is located within the West City of Berlin . The area is not known for its “coolness” but the hotel and the adjacent mall do bring a much needed fun/hipster vibe to the neighborhood. The hotel is also located a short walk away from Tauentzien strabe which I have been told is the oxford st equivillant (London reference) with many retail stores (zara, berksha etc) and KADEWE ( the harrods of berlin you can say).

The room I booked for my stay was an “Urban L Room”, which overlooked the shopping street. It was designed to be an open plan with no doors for the bathroom/ bed/ living area, but thankfully a door for the toilet! Lol. The bed was almost built into the ground on an elevated step in the room. It was super comfy and made waking up in the morning very difficult! The bathroom was also very large and clean, with a bath tube and a rain shower. I must note that because I picked a large room that it came with a bicycle free for my use. I thought that was cool but I am not the athletic type so I didn’t use it, but my friend used hers for an early morning workout.

I did find however (and these are the only negative points) that the rooms are dimly lit which was slightly irritating cause I always felt like I couldn’t see as well as I wanted to. I also found that my room didn’t have a phone which made it harder to connect to my friends also staying in the hotel. It was also meant that every time I needed something from reception (like an iron) I had to make my way to reception to request it. I wasn’t sure if that was part of the theme/concept of the hotel or a mistake.

Asides from the rooms, the hotel itself has many great dining options and facilities. Neni restaurant is located on the top floor with great breakfast and a decent dinner. The monkey bar (which is awesome!) is also located on the top floor and is a great place to hang out and enjoy the great views of Berlin. The hotel also has a bakery that makes the BEST coffee!! Being a late riser I missed breakfast 3/5 times and was really relieved that I didn’t have to leave the hotel to get a coffee and a croissant. You can also find a burger food truck parked outside the hotel, which I deeply regret not trying. Also at the hotel you will find a work station area which is ideal for getting some work done or holding informal meetings and a “jungle Sauna” which I must admit I never visited.

Overall, It is a great hotel to stay. Its fun, Its well located, its got great service, its clean, its got great facilities. Its got it all! I would definitely stay there again and take another million pictures!

Room tip: the larger rooms include free bikes

"A good experience"

Rate:  4 Stars

This hotel is well placed and very near to the Zoo. Very helpful staff and all extra requirements and requests catered for. They even supplied us with a jug of milk late one night for our coffee in the room. The lifts are good, though a little small, but have in-flight entertainment installed!

"Well placed, comfortable and architecturally interesting hotel for a Berlin trip"

Rate:  4 Stars

I stayed in the bikini for four nights for a visit to Berlin. the hotel is five minutes from the Zoologischer Station on the U Bahn, Sand S Bahn. there is a direct train from Schoenefeld Airport with U Bahn and busses to the centre of the city.
when I visited the hotel had only been open three months and it is architecturally interesting. Although on the main road, the double glazing is most effective and the rooms are quiet and there is an efficient controllable air conditioning system.
The rooms are spotlessly clean and the bods are large and comfortable. There was an excellent shower and spate toilet. The rooms were cleaned every day and he towels changed. I am not the most tidy of people and it was good that my clothes were folded and hung up!
an artist has provided pictures on the walls of the bedrooms and corridors, most with a zoo theme as the zoo is immediately behind the hotel. From the dining room on the 10th floor , you can look out over the zoo. There is a choice of breakfast: a roll and coffee on the 3rd floor fro about 4 Euros and a full breakfast with a c wide choice- sausages, eggs, cold eats, cereals, salmon, fresh fruit - for 18 Euros. the bread is baked in the hotel`s wood oven and was delicious.
The Wi-Fi works very well and there are Mac computers you can use. Ipads are available to hire as are bicycles. there is a bar on the top floor.
The hotel is modern with interestingly quirky design features which are fun and imaginative; and I can highly recommend it.

Room tip: You can ask to look over the zoo.

"Almost like waking up in the jungle.."

Rate:  5 Stars

Our room was clean, colorful and funky... with a great view over the zoo. Although no animals were visible we could hear them in the morning after opening the window and the feeling was amazing.
Our visit to Berlin would have not been so special if we had chosen a different hotel...

Room tip: Definitely a jungle room...

Very Good hotel in the middle of the town. Shoppingmalls are very nearby. The same for the public transport, which is very cheap.
The hotel is not that cheap, but a Good place to stay for several nights.
