Nice, cheap and quite place to stay. Very near the city center. 2 mins walking from the shops, bars, etc. For those who are interested to visit Department Of Civil Aviation, is 5 mins driving by car.

I stayed at this hotel 6 nights and we were very pleased the services.
Hotel is located in Glyfada district, a very beautiful area, very close to the public transport.Breakfast at the hotel was good, room is not very spacious, but are clean, equipped with air conditioning and safe deposit.Car parking is right on the street in front of the hotel.
Hotel has a beautiful outside terrace, where you can have dinner/breakfast or coffee break.
Near the hotel are two supermarkets.

I liked this hotel and if I will visit Athens again,i stay here.

"Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, spacious rooms. Excellent stay!"

Rate:  5 Stars

A group of 3 of us stayed at the Blue Sky Hotel in July this year. We were really impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. When we arrived, the staff informed us that there was a ferry strike the next day, which was the day we were planning to head to an island. The staff went out of their way to help us make alternative arrangements and called Hellenic Seaways for us to check availability on ferries for that evening or the day after the strike.

We booked a triple room - which was more like a small suite. There was an entrance lobby, bathroom and two bedrooms. The rooms were clean and there were tvs and aircon in each of the rooms (although we didnt` watch any tv, so not sure if there are any satellite channels). There was also a fridge in one of the bedrooms which was very handy for storing bottles of water! A hairdrier was available from reception and there was also a balcony overlooking the garden at the front of the hotel that was nice to relax on after a day in Athens (or a day on the beach).

The hotel is located in a quiet residential area. Glyfada is a suburb of Athens but very close to Athens` beaches and there are some great cafes and bars a few blocks away from the hotel.

The breakfast was a typical Greek breakfast. There was a buffet of breads, hams, cheese, cereals and some fresh fruit (apples and bananas).

I have stayed in a couple of other hotels in the Glyfada/ Voulgiagmeni area but would only return to the Blue Sky Hotel. I thought it was excellent value for money, the staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. It is not a luxury hotel but an excellent 3 star hotel. I was very impressed and cannot recommend it highly enough.

If you do book this hotel, don`t forget to print off a google map to show to your taxi driver, as it is tucked away on a residential street, rather than on the main (noisy) road where most of the other hotels are.

"Feels like staying with Family or Friends"

Rate:  5 Stars

Very pleasant hotel in the middle of a residential neighbourhood in Glyfada. From the moment of arrival one feels like staying with friends or family. They way the staff treats you is very warm and natural. The rooms are fine and since it is a quiet neighborhood the only thing you may hear when sleeping with open windows is a dog barking or a cat meowing. Also the A/C unit is relatively quiet compared to many US budget hotels. While the breakfast buffet is simple, the quality is very good and it is always fresh. The Wi-Fi whom I`ve connected my laptop with worked perfect all the time. The only two minor negatives I would want to mention is the relatively small bathroom and the small shower and the doors of the hotel room which are not really sound-proof. But these are minor things and do nothing to discredit the great value this hotel offers. I`m traveling the world on both business and leisure quite a bit and must say that this was a very pleasant stay at an exceelent rate. I paid EUR 55.00 per night single use, booking it directly with the hotel. They don`t have a booking engine but wrote back to me within 24 business hours.

"An absolute gem of a place!"

Rate:  5 Stars

Just spent a weekend at Blue Sky, prior to return flight to UK. Will certainly be back here if we need to overnight on an arrival or for return flight & hope to be back for a few days to explore more of the beautiful area of Greece between here & Cape Sounion. Perfect location, set in neat & attractive gardens on a quiet street with parking. Lovely room - clean & airy with good towels & a proper shower cabinet. Excellent buffet breakfast with lots of choice & endless quantity! Owner Kosta & his staff were professional, efficient & friendly. Lots of public seating areas inside & out - ideal for relaxing with a drink with the friends we were meeting here for a couple of days. Outstanding value, with very realistic bar prices & within walking distance of good eateries & the trendy nightlife of Glyfada. Could also make an ideal base for a trip into Athens city centre as transport options are almost on the doorstep, & by car is 25 minutes easy drive from airport.

Rate:  5 Stars

Great choice, Athens centre still accessible & a good base for exploring more of Attica & the coast.
With comfortable, clean rooms the hotel is set in lovely gardens, great staff & near to bus & tram transport. A quiet area with plenty of bars & tavernas within a short walking distance, a very good option at value prices. The breakfast included was a good start to the day!
I have a feeling I`ll be back, what more can I say??

"MISSING IT ALREADY!!"

Rate:  5 Stars

This is a return visit and as ever I cannot fault the hotel, its value for money or staff in any way. Kostas and Katerina and staff ensured my stay was pleasant and restful! The hotel is in a great location in terms of eating out and beach life and with a tram station less than 5 minutes walk - central Athens with all it has to offer, is within easy reach .
My aim was to have a relaxing week`s break and that is exactly what I got. For fellow Scottish travellers, a direct flight from Edinburgh to Athens is available and on arrival the X96 from the airport makes the hotel within easy reach. (Take a look at the review Paisley People Oct 2010). Kostas I hope your business has a wonderful summer season and hopefully I be back in the near future.

"Another Great Experience at Blue Sky"

Rate:  4 Stars

We stayed twice here during April and again were very satisfied. I`ve been staying here on and off for several years and prefer it to central Athens. Blue Sky is a great value budget hotel located in Glyfada - one of the most attractive Athens suburbs.

By staying here you avoid the noise and grime of central Athens. The coastal tram or buses will whisk you into the centre in less than an hour for about 1.5 euro if you want to hit the tourist trail and museums. It`s twenty minutes by taxi. A taxi to the airport will cost you 30 euro or you can take the express bus and get a day`s travel included as well for 5 euro! It`s about a ten minute walk to buses and the tram.

Glyfada is full of tree-lined boulevards, close to the sea and the beaches of the Athens Riviera. At the same time it has one of the most cosmopolitan shopping streets and thirty or forty decent restaurants to choose from. The hotel gives out free Glyfada maps.

The hotel offers services more akin to a three star including breakfast, bar, room safe, free internet and friendly, helpful staff. They wouldn`t take any money when I printed off 7 lots of boarding passes! Try getting that for free in the centre! Rates are reasonable and there are often special deals to be had. Rooms are clean if basic. Some are ground floor which will help for those with limited mobility. Some have balconies and the area is pretty quiet. However, the corridors do tend to amplify the noise of wheeled cases of arriving/departing guests.

I will inevitably use Blue Sky again when in Athens. If you`re looking for a great deal without 5 star surroundings, you just found it.

Room tip: Ask to be shown a selection of the available rooms - rather than accepting the first one offered. T...

"Four star service at two star prices"

Rate:  5 Stars

Blue Sky is tucked away in a quiet corner of Glyfada just a few minutes walk from the coastal tram. Piraeus and Central Athens are less than one hour by tram. The airport is 30 minutes by express bus (5 euro for 24 hrs travel) or 30 euro by taxi.

This is a little gem of a hotel. Basic but clean with small bar, 24 hour service and good buffet breakfast. Lounge area and outside seating. Air conditioned rooms with television, refrigerator and personal safe. Free internet including access to printer. Staff are friendly and very helpful. All speak good English.

Rooms are clean and modern if showers a little small. Most have nice balconies. Glyfada is much quieter than staying in central Athens and its tree lined boulevards are much more attractive. Sophisticated shopping, good beaches close by and absolutely loads of eateries to choose from.

Hotel has maintained its standards for six years since I last stayed. Unreservedly recommended for budget travellers.

Room tip: Some rooms more spacious than others. Ask to view.

This is a clean , basic hotel wth a lovely staff. The rooms are clean and the bathroom might be tiny but it is very fresh. The area is a quiet residential area and it takes about 10 minutes to reach the shoppingarea and nightlife.
As we stayed there in december the nights were cool but the heating in the rooms worked very well.
Will definately be back!

"Excellent value - an oasis!"

Rate:  5 Stars

We had not intended to go to Athens, but the collapse of XL meant that we had to go home via "the big city" , a friend who lives nearby booked us in the Blue Sky for one night. We, however, arrived a day early! Although there were no rooms available (they didn`t baulk at 2 dishevelled backpackers wandering through their door), they found us a room in another hotel for the night and sketched the route to it on a map. That hotel was "OK".

Returning to the Blue Sky the next day was like being back on the islands again - nice and quiet, a pleasant outside seating area in the garden where we supped frappe and a lovely (if compact) room. The bathroom was one of the nicest that we`ve had in over 20 years of coming to Greece. The discovery of a small ironing board in the wardrobe made life complete (one cannot go out in Glyfada looking crumpled!).

Friendly people, very reasonable prices (even at the bar) - we are booked in for 2 nights in September 09 already!

"Lovely place in tranquil surroundings."

Rate:  5 Stars

Blue Sky is a well-run, efficient hotel with friendly, helpful staff and very clean accommodation. It`s close to Athens,(55mins tram or 30 mins. bus, fare 1.20 euros for either) and a short stoll to the local beach. Continental breakfast is served 730-10.30. You can enjoy an aperitif in the beautifully-maintained garden, especially enjoyable after the big sun goes to sleep for a few hours! Even better with a small breeze. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within five minutes of the hotel or you can order a takeaway and watch a film in your room. I have stayed here many times. It is situated in a quiet, residential area. The noisiest residents are the cicadas!

"Excellent family owned and run choice"

Rate:  5 Stars

Stayed about a year or two back but only just found this page to give credit where credit due.

Very little to find fault with here. From making the bookings with Costas to meeting him in person at check in and later when working the bar. Very friendly, efficient and helpful indeed at all stages.

Immaculately clean, good sized and well equipped rooms with daily cleaning were extremely comfortable.

Breakfast was a pleasing affair also - I chose to take mine out into the garden to enjoy the morning sunshine or shaded areas as per my whim of the day. Great choice for breakfast too with return trips to the buffet style self service area welcomed.

Only about ten minutes` walk down the road to the tram stop up to Voula in the one direction and Piraeus or Athens in the other. Voula and it`s attractions being but two stops away. Athens (Syntagma terminus) being about 40 minutes at very reasonable fares inded. Taking a further 10 minutes` walk from the tram stop one comes to the coastal road where once again there are buses to Piraeus and Athens centre but also in the direction of Voula and beyond. Of particular interest being those running to and from Athens International Airport in only about 40 minutes and available 24 hours a day. They can be a little crowded but make an excellent and economical alternative to a taxi.

Only downsides as far as I was concerned were those 10 minute walks if lugging suitcases etc in the heat of the day - I was there during a heatwave - and a slight remoteness for my liking from restaurants. That said, the urban location had it`s compensations in the peace and quiet they afforded.

That quiet location also proving useful to enjoy a relaxing evening drink from the (good value) bar in the garden.

Thank you once again Costas and your friendly efficient staff. When I am again in need of Hotel accommodation in the Athens/Glyfada area you will be my first point of contact.

Chris Allsopp.

"A quiet, clean, small hotel with comfy rooms.."

Rate:  5 Stars

I stayed several times at this hotel and it is a really nice place, located in a quiet and green neighbourhood only a couple of blocks of the Tram station and from the centre of Glyfada, the shops, the restaurants, the beach, and the night clubs.
You will find a place to park your car there, and the price is really good compared to other hotels in that area. The breakfast is good, the staff is very polite, and you will enjoy your stay in the quiet and clean rooms. You may need to book a few weeks earlier because there are not many rooms. (it is an advantage if you ask me, because the less people, the more quiet!) It is a small, comfortable hotel which gives you the impression that you stay in a house rather than a hotel!

"Good budget price hotel in a quiet and convenient area of Glyfada"

Rate:  4 Stars

Stayed here for 4 nights in September. Hotel was very clean and the staff (you only see a receptionist) very helpful. Buffet breakfast was adequate and offered a reasonable choice. One minor complaint was the hard bed which we raised with receptionist on the first morning and we were offered immediately an alternative room with new mattresses.
The hotel is in the course of replacing all mattresses. We would certainly return to this hotel if we visited Athens again.

Rate:  5 Stars

We stayed there just for one night before flying back from Athens. We booked a quadruple room and got a room with a small corridor with three doors: one for the bath room and the other two for two double rooms - that was great! So we had more the feeling of having a double room than a quadruple room. The rooms and hotel was clean with a big balcony and some TV stations from abroad. The breakfast was really good (for a greek hotel) with a variety of breads, cheeses and sausages. If you need a hotel in Athens that does not have to be in the center of Athens this would be a really good choice!
Would always book it again!!!

This hotel in the Athens suburb Glyfada is a perfect place to stay, especially if you have a car and want to visit Athens without experiencing the horrendous traffic . And those without a car will appreciate its tranquil location. A tram, which will take you to the center of Athens in under an hour, is just a few blocks away. And the airport is a little over a half-hour away. The hotel has a friendly and helpful staff, quiet rooms, safe on-street-parking, free computer access, and is near some quite good local restaurants. Highly recommended!
