"Modest but a star nonetheless "

Rate:  5 Stars

You always dread arriving in a hotel and getting the room without a view. Well Dagmar the owner of Rastoni has been in the business long enough to know just how to keep everyone happy. So every room in this lovely hotel has a splendid view of the sea and overlooks Colonna the ancient site of a temple to Apollo. The garden has been created with great care. Both in the shady nooks and sun traps it`s a lovely place to have breakfast or while away the hours reading. Each room has been designed nicely with simple and functional furniture but just with that edge that makes you feel some trouble has been taken to get it right. Breakfast is the usual continental offering making sure you won`t go hungry. And there are so many great places to eat on Aegina, you won`t go hungry anyway. We had a wonderful time here, drinking the local wine on the terrace before popping off for dinner only 10 minutes walk away. Can`t recommend this hotel highly enough.

"Hotel Rastoni - Simply Wonderful!"

Rate:  5 Stars

My wife and I stayed here for 3 days at the end of July before catching the ferry back to Piraeus for our cruise with Azamara. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the room was very welcoming with lovely air con and a large ceiling fan, which in the heat of Aegina you definitely need.

Lovely breakfast is supplied with a beautiful garden to enjoy it in. Dagmar is such an excellent host and very helpful.

Bedroom and bathroom are just what is required, with a lovely balcony to relax on and enjoy the views of the sea and the temple ruins.

Just a 5 minute walk takes you to start of the harbour and seafront, with a myriad of shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. The beach in front of the church at the far end is small but adequate, the sea beautiful. We had lunch and dinner at Babis, as in the evening their tables are actually on the beach and you can sit and watch the sun set over the harbour!

I would definitely recommend this hotel and we plan to return!

"Too good to be true, but it is true!"

Rate:  5 Stars

The kind of place that you wish to keep for yourself because it is trully wonderful! Stayed 5 days and was really difficult to leave this morning. Great staf, wonderful room: so big that you can sleep with 4 people. All rooms have with view to the sea. Quite but very close to the center and the beach, go to eat to the first taverna on your left when you walk to the beach: fresh dorades and after 5 days, a special local lamb dish (special for friends!). Thanks hotel Rastoni, we will come back or send some friends! Also what you see on the pictures is true, rooms are trully beautiful.

"Lovely little gem of a hotel"

Rate:  5 Stars

We had a week at the Rastoni and it helped us to truly live up to its name, which means "do nothing!". The owners, especially Dagmar, wonderfully welcoming and did everything they possibly could to make us comfortable. Very comfortable room, large, airy, fabulous views; and lovely garden area. Its a quiet spot, and yet only a few minutes walk to the town and the port, as well as the beach (but nicer beaches reached by car further along the coast). We met another couple who return every year, and we can really see why. We couldn`t have had a better stay. Thank you Rastoni, our spirits are truly restored!

Room tip: We loved Room 6 (fourposter bed & great view!)

"A wonderful place to do everything or nothing"

Rate:  5 Stars

Hotel Rastoni (Greek for "do nothing") was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the small island of Aegina. We arrived on a Saturday night then left next day to spend five days becoming "competent crew" with the Aegina Sailing School. We asked if we could leave our heavy bag at the hotel while we leaned to sail. "Of course," said Dagmar, "and I`ll have your room with four-poster bed waiting for you when you get back." And what a comfort that bed was after five nights in the confines of a bunk. The room was large and very comfortable with a private balcony with its lovely view of the nearby temple of Apollo. The bathroom was modern, tiled and equipped with a good strong shower. We breakfasted sumptuously in the flower-scented garden and then took the five minute stroll down to the beach by the harbour front tavernas. We rented a small jeep (slightly battered but functional) at the harbour and explored the island, finding more secluded beaches where it was possible to relax without techno music. We did everything we wanted to do and enjoyed having nothing we had to do. No better place to do it.

Room tip: Not all the rooms have four-posters so if you want one be sure to ask in advance.

"Excellent hotel"

Rate:  5 Stars

Really solid, spacious rooms. Excellent air conditioning (it was 40 C when we arrived!). Lovely views from the balcony. Superb breakfasts and really helpful staff. Dagmar was very kind and helpful and is an excellent host. It is only a five minute walk from the harbour and the restaurants, banks and shops. It is also only 5 minutes walk to a lovely beach.

Room tip: We stayed in a room on the top floor. The views were lovely.

"room with a view "

Rate:  5 Stars

Beautiful view from upstairs, but rooms on the ground floor have the benefit of a very elegant garden. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, bathroom decent. Breakfast arrangement was also nice, with the option of the garden, an indoor facility or one`s own room. Wi-fi worked well. Last not least: excellent location: walking distance from the center of town but away from its noise.
